"Is something I said funny l/n?"

I rolled my eyes but Alya spoke for me.

"Everyone gets a chance to try out Chloé.''

"Yes but not everyone is as talented as me! If I were you guys I would step out of line now."

Rose's previous happiness seemed to diminish at this. I narrowed my eyes at her but raised an eyebrow challengingly.

"Really what acting have you done Chloé?"

This seemed to startle her, she wasn't prepared to have to bluff. I continued mercilessly, years of growing up around Caleb and his brothers giving me an edge when it came to trading insults.

"Well besides you acting entitled all the time."

She shrieked, putting a hand over her heart, as the people around us including my friends began to laugh. Chloé stepped up to get in my face, Sabrina joining her right over her shoulder.

"You are a good-for-nothing brat l/n! I can't understand for the life of me why Adrikens would pollute his life and social status by associating with you-"

"That's enough!"

I felt a set of hands on my shoulders push me to the side and watched as Adrien stepped slightly in front of me.

"Leave her alone Chloé, she's my friend and you're being rude."

"Adrikens. I'm just stating facts!"

Adrien went to say something in response, but I had already taken note of the distressed look on his face and decided to finish my opponent. I locked eyes with Chloé as I spoke.

"Adrien, it's not a big deal. I don't like fighting with idiots anyway; they just lower me to their level and beat me with experience."

There were a few 'whoops' sounding from the back of the line, and my friends were basically on the ground rolling in laughter. Nino was slapping Adrien on the back in a subtle attempt at pulling him away. Chloé's face was beet red at this point, flustered flush blotching up her neck and her mouth hanging open like a fish. Sabrina tugged on Chloé's forearm, a servant to her evil mastermind.

"Come on Chloé, she's just jealous of you. It's your turn to go soon anyway."

"If I wanted to be anything like Chloé I'd have to stick my head up my as-"

"Next in line, you can come in now!"

Mr. Laurent must have been doing god's work today, either that or took pity on Chloé's rotten little soul. She turned on her heels stomping up to the door. Promptly shooting me an icy glare over her shoulder before slamming the door behind her. I returned the gesture by flipping her the bird.

"Damn dude, I've never seen you go off that hard on someone."

I turned to face Nino with a vicious little sneer.

"Chloé had that coming and respectfully. I'm from New York."

"That's only slightly worrying."

Juleka hid a snort behind her hand just as Alya slung her arm over my shoulder giggling.

"Can you do that every time she comes near us?"

I cast a look at Sabrina who stood off to the side picking at her sweater vest nervously. I frowned before straightening up.

"No hard feelings Sabrina, if you ever decide to ditch the witch we could be good friends."

She simply exhaled and turned up her nose at me. I had little time to react as Adrien pulled me to the side against the wall. He talked hushed.

"Try not to be too hard on Chloé. She didn't really have the best experience growing up."

I deadpanned before anger started to boil up in my chest.

"And you or I did? Adrien, I don't have parents. But you don't see me walking around bullying other people."

He started to backtrack, stumbling over his words.

"No that's-that's what I was- I wasn't implying-"

I frowned at him, brushing past him to return to the group.

"Forget it, Adrien, it's not a big deal."

I joined the line again, slotting myself next to Marinette. The pigtailed girl shot me a look of concern at my sudden mood change. I glanced back at the blonde, he had returned to his spot in line between Nino and Kim. He was staring daggers into my head, not even attempting to hide it.

"I'll tell you later, can I come over after auditions?"

She nodded with an inviting smile.

"Of course."

"Next in line please come in!"

I looked up to see it was my turn to audition, Marinette squeezed my shoulder as my body moved on autopilot to the doorway.
