Maya PoV

"Maya! Are you awake?" I heard my mom shout for me, how could I not she had been screaming my name for the past five minutes

Today was the day, I was being forced to go to a summer camp.

What did she think I was six?!

I don't need to go to a camp I have much better things I could do with my summer... Literally anything would be better

"Maya!" She yelled again, I groaned and sat up on my bed

"I'm up! You can stop screaming now!" I yelled back. Who needs an alarm when I have my mom she will not stop until I am awake

I stretched my arm and grabbed my phone, I was just scrolling through social media and I was checking if I had any messages

I'm not a big phone person, I use it to read or to text people if I need and Netflix is always amazing for movies or shows. I can sit and binge watch a show for days!

But who can't?

Every morning I usually do the same thing, but I've recently had to change my routine and I've just started to get used to the new routine and now it has changed again, now I have to go to a summer camp!

And it's not just part of the summer that I might be okay with -no actually I would still hate it and complain but I would prefer it - but it's all of my summer break.

I picked out some dark blue jeans, an off the shoulder long sleeved white top, and white vans.

Once I was dressed I put a little bit of makeup on, just a natural look I wasn't going anywhere special so I didn't need to look really nice, and I curled my hair

After a little later I was ready and so was my mom

"Have you packed everything you'll need?" My mom asked as I was eating some cereal

I rolled my eyes "No mom I haven't packed anything at all, yeah if you check it's all just in a big mess on my floor"

I was being sarcastic clearly, for the past week she had reminded me everyday to pack everything and she even gave me an itemised list of what to pack

"Enough with the sarcasm" My mom had a stern expression on her face, I don't understand why she was so annoyed at me or why she was even sending me away in the first place

"I might have to go but I don't need to be happy about it" I took another spoonful of cereal

"You're attitude and grades are the reason you're going and you know this" I wasn't a terrible student, I could be much worse

Sometimes I tend to skip a class or two and maybe I'll occasionally fall asleep but that's the teachers own fault for being extremely boring and monotone. If my teachers want me to learn and listen they need to find a better way to teach

"We both know that's not the only reason" I just stared at my bowl of cereal

"It's either this or physical therapy in the hospital and then lots of moving around" She pauses for a moment so I looked back up at her

"You need to be more aware of your actions Maya, especially now-" My mom was probably going to start giving me some stupid inspirational speech but I didn't want to hear it so I interrupted her
