Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there,
I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there,
I did not die.

74 A.D.

Silas grunts as his shackles are yanked roughly by his slaver. Being shackled to his eight brethren causes them to stumble along with him. The savage heat of Rome beats on their flesh, wearing them down as they drag along behind the oxen driven carts that the Roman soldiers ride luxuriously on. They guzzle water gluttonously in front of them, eying them intentionally as they do as if to mock them.

They're to be damned as gladiators, taken from their homelands as penance for rebelling against Roman rule. Silas snarls at the backs of their slavers, their captors. North grunts beside him and nudges him. Sparing him a glance, Silas locks eyes with his brother. North silently calms him with a look alone.

They'll get through this.

Because they are not alone.
