"What?" I turned around then gasped at the sight of Fiyero on one knee holding out a beautiful ring.

"Well," Fiyero began, "I know that I'm a scarecrow and we're not finished with our journey yet but, if you would agree to this, I would love to start a whole other journey with you. And, Elphaba, I promise that I will love you forever. So will you make me the happiest ma-... I mean, scarecrow alive by marrying me?"

I had tears in eyes and I couldn't do anything but smile and nod, then finally out came the word "YES!!!"

He got up and hugged me tight then put the ring on my left ring finger. After he did, all we heard was people clapping, I turned to some of them and smiled big, still fighting back my tears of joy.

"So," I said clearing my throat, "are you done with your cake?"

"Oh, forget about the cake, let's go get married!" Fiyero shouted, picking me up in his arms.

I screamed with excitement as he did so then everybody clapped as we left. "Wait," I said, "we forgot to pay for our meal."

"Don't worry, Fae," he smiled "our waitress said it was on the house for an old friend's engagement."

"Old?" I joked.

"You know what I mean."
