One more obsidian block aaaand- a purple glow enveloped the cave room; perfect. I grazed my hand over the gateway. It seemed liquid but it wasn't. So one step at a time I climbed into the swirling magenta sea, loud portal-noises ringing in my ears until I appeared on the other side.
Sadly its exactly what you'd expect of the nether; infinite red hue, barren with the exception of the structures and yet there is to be seen a mansion. An extension of the fortress. Was it included in an update note that I over read? Perhaps player built? Even so, no one seems to be around and I don't mind an adventure. Guess there's only one way to find out.
Traversing the lengthy hallways, now on route to the entrance to this miraculous building. One final glance around to this dull land, so desolate, so forsaken aside the mobs. Surely anyone would find it extremely lonely; I would for sure.
A sense of dread consumed me as I edged ever closer to the structure. Not only that but it sent chills running down my spine at the thought of someone stalking me. Out if reflex I turn around...
My hair stood on end, another shiver raced down my spine and a lump came to my throat. It was him... There stood a man, no The fallen God, as realization kicked in. This was his home, Herobrine's Kingdom of course. I've crossed onto his territory. Struck with fear I just stood there. Atmosphere suffocated with foreboding and loneliness and it hung like thick mist.
Did he bring this? This.... Feeling of isolation; feeling of regret and sorrow? Of course he did but did he feel it too? He was the first to brake the deafening silence.
"Why have you come here?" His tone gruff twisted with a hint of entertainment.
'Am I a joke to you?' He merely smirked at my thought. "I come out of curiosity, sir. I mean no harm."
"You know your kind are not welcome here."
"Oh I know." This, in turn, made him laugh, slightly catching me off guard.
"Come y/n, there are better things to be seen than my forsaken land." Something seemed to click in him as he gingerly opened the doors Infront of me. Knowing full well he would not treat just anyone like this seemed.... Off. But I'm not dead yet so I'll take his offer.
Upon entry, the walkway was lit by glowstone lamps trailing the roof into another room with a chandelier.
"As you've perked my interest I'm allowing you to stay here as an alternative to the abundance of blocks you have back in the overworld. Don't make me regret my decision." His tone stern and authoritative before shifting into a smile. His interest? Why, of all creation, me? He teleported both of us into what looked like a bedroom.
"I- uh- thank y-" he'd already left. Sighing I face-plant the sheets; surprisingly much softer than the makeshift bed I have back at home. I loved it yet his kindness seemed... unusual almost off putting. True to his tales he is merciless yet misunderstood. Makes it hard to believe he's bad but at the same time that he could even be good. Thoughtful rambling was cut short by a knock and creak of the door. Peeking over the bed-side there stood a wither skeleton.
"Good evening Ma'am , hope I didn't startle you. I've been assigned as your servant." Oh. Wait wha-
"I really don't need- I don't have a choice do I? Ok, what is your name?" They hesitated for a moment.
"Spawn number 6523987-"
"How about Alfred?" I smile sheepishly but the skeleton seems to like that name so that's a relief. Alfred nodded his skull in delight. "So where is Herobrine right now?"
"Master is most likely in the throne room. I could take you there if you would like?" And off we went. Turns out Alfred wasn't the only mob who spoke an understandable language, at least to me anyway.
However talking to the 'big man himself' didn't go as planned. He gave me basic directions and rules then one word answers; seeming uninterested. Talk about a mood shift....
///Hero's pov///
Drained from work and duties I stretch and decide to mindlessly walk around for a while; unintentionally ending up by y/n's door. Yet I turn away; I can't get attached to anyone. A twinging pain erupted my chest; With a sigh I try and get some rest.
