Moving to a new city is usually exciting. It's a chance to restart from zero, no one knows who you are, you can pretend to be anyone. This sounds great, doesn't it?
No.
Not for me. It's the fourth time we move in 3 years. It's to the point where I mentally got ready to just not make any friends. It sucks to have friends come and go all the time.
My Instagram is full of people I won't ever see again.
I sigh as the wind hit my face. I am sitting on the front porch of our new house, taking a small break from unpacking.
We have been here for 6 days. Between school and my dad's work, we didn't got much time to unpack properly. What's the point of unpacking if we are going to move in a few months?
I put my cigarette in the ashtray -nasty habit, I know, I only have one here and there when I feel stressed or overwhelmed- as my father's car pull up in our driveway.
He comes out of the car with a giant pizza box and a 2 litre of seven up... surprise, surprise. Take-out is all we have been eating since we got here.
"Heeey heeyy bugger! How was school?"
"Meh. Dad, can we go grocery shopping this week end? I mean I love take-out but I miss home cook food" I hold the door open for him and follow him to the kitchen.
"Oh wow, this place really is coming together! You did lots today"
Typical of him. Changing subjects.
"Daaaad!"
"Uh, yes, yes honey. We, uh, we can go grocery shopping tomorrow after work" he said as he put the pizza on the table.
"I might need your help. This guy at work told me about this app to meet friends" he looks uncomfortable
"Dating app you mean?"
"Ugh, yeah, that's it... would you mind to show me how it works? I am clueless with technology"
I smile at him and nod.

That new dating app my dad wanted help with is pretty pathetic. Soooo pathetic that I decided to join.
What? I have a pretty lonely life. I don't really wants to make friends but even if I wanted to I wouldn't. No one has even talk to me in 4 days of school. All the "crew" are formed. Everyone has friends so nobody is interested in the new girl who got here 3 weeks after school starts. Too late loser.
I have set the age range to 18-19. I don't want any old creeps talking to me.
I click "yes" or "no" on boys pictures, and got a few matches already.
I am laying in bed after unpacking some more and taking a shower. I go back on the app one last time tonight.
There is this boy. Wow. 18, 0,01 km away. I would be a fool to click "yes" on someone that is probably my neighbour. But I do anyway, I am ready to bet 20$ that he won't click "yes" on me. He is breathtaking with his blond hair, blue eyes and that smile- oh. My. God. "YES".
"That's a match" a robotic voice says. Are you shitting me? Looks like I owe myself 20 bucks.
I put my phone down. And it vibrate. I look quickly and my heart starts racing.
Heeey. What's up?
Oh man. Are you seriously writing me? This must be a fake account. He has to be cat fishing me.
Not much, yourself?
I am Drake by the way. I seen that we live close, funny I never seen you before.
I just moved here about a week ago...my name's Hannah.
What school ?
Ste-Mary high . You? Don't tell me you are that football dude that almost ran me over with his Jeep this morning!
Ohhhh that was you? Oh shit.
Of course he is the one that almost killed me. That's how every love story starts, right? Right? Before I could even answer he sends another message
I'm just kidding, I go to FairPlay High
Ok. You see the point. Boring, basic conversation. But at least he didn't asked for a nude or if I wanted to hook up right away.

Our conversation was so basic that I thought he would stop messaging me, but here we are, almost 24 hours later and we are still talking.
I push a cart through the grocery store when my cell phone vibrate in my back pocket, against my butt.
What are you doing tonight?
Just grocery shopping atm. Got some more unpacking waiting for me. You?
I put the phone back in my pocket as I pick some fruits and veggies. It vibrates again and weirdly, I almost jump on my phone, incapable to not look. Like the suspens is killing me. Come on, Hannah, get your shit together.
No way! I'm at grocery store as well. I'm coming to say hello; what aisle you're in?
You have got to be kidding me.
