"Won't that cause some confusion later?" He did however add, his mind wandering as to how complicated events could turn out if his altered memories caused problems for people unaware of the supernatural ⏤ Carol Lockwood being the prime example.

"I'm hoping he leaves before that," Olivia said quietly, mostly trying to keep her mind diverged as in actuality, she wasn't completely sure how she felt about his abrupt return. Though with their Original vampire problems, she supposed everything would be simpler if he left ⏤ either back to Florida or wherever the hell he'd been the past few months.

"Hey, If you want to talk..." Alaric drifted off awkwardly.

"Talk? Talk about what?" She questioned in return with knitted brows.

"You know what I mean. You and Mason..." he began, hoping she'd understand where he was going and he wouldn't have to continue to add to the uncomfortable atmosphere by explaining it. "I'm guessing things are unresolved between you." He finally found a way of phrasing it, not needing to look behind him to know Damon was glaring hatefully in his direction.

"I moved on, he forgot I ever existed. Seems pretty resolved to me." Olivia shrugged.

Ric sighed heavily as he turned a corner, his flashlight scanning the area as they continued on. "What I'm trying to ask is... are you sure you're okay? You two seemed... pretty close..."

Olivia paused briefly at his words, feeling confliction rise within her as her pace slowed considerably. She felt  Damon's prying stares as she walked, willing her to cast a look over her shoulder and meet his eyes. The Salvatore completely spacing out from the conversation Elena was currently wrapped up in sharing with him as he purely focused his attention on the girl; Olivia doing the same, barely noticing when Alaric took the lead in front of her.

He was staring at her intensely, a flicker of anger visible in her eyes though it wasn't directed at her specifically. It was more of a general anger, an uncontrollable one he couldn't prevent himself from feeling. Olivia instantly knew it was because of the Mason situation, the two hadn't particularly talked since he got back and Liv wasn't too sure why.

At first, she just wanted to distance herself from everyone as she usually did, feeling strangely uncomfortable being around both Mason and Damon at the same time after all she had told the wolf; after all he'd told her, and now he didn't appear to remember any of it. Damon clearly sensed her confliction and most likely assumed she was feeling it for completely different reasons ⏤ that she still had feelings for him. And that couldn't be further from the truth.

"No way," Tyler's enthusiastic voice sounded throughout the small building, erupting over the muted chatter of the Grill. "Uncle Mason." He said; a large grin spreading across his face as he immediately approached the door, his uncle's expression slowly becoming reminiscent of his own. "I can't believe you're here."

The hybrid was momentarily too far caught up in his joy and surprise to see his uncle again and so previous events were completely suppressed from his mind; hidden behind layers of stifled shock.

"Yeah, it's been several months since I last saw you." Mason returned, his radiant smile never faltering as a small chuckle left his lips at his nephew's extensive surprise.

Olivia meanwhile felt her body go stiff beneath Damon's hold, his arms still wrapped around her waist as he stared intensely at the scene occurring behind him by cocking his head over his shoulder. Noticing Mason there, his own expression went blank, complicated thoughts filling his head. The same could be said for Olivia as her eyes fixed on the wolf and she felt a rise of overwhelming feelings wash over her body.
