Blood Gained, Blood Lost

Chapter 15

Haji's POV

I looked at Saya's distress as she immediately began picking up everything that had been strewn about, she tried to remain her composure but I saw through it, as I always did. A single tear went down her cheek and I had to refrain from running to her side and taking her far, far away from all this. 

"Kai, call David and tell him what has happened." She said 

Kai nodded and pulled out his phone

Saya gathered all the clothes and began neatly folding them setting them into seperate piles depending on who they belonged to, she was quite, a sad look on her face...I wished she would smile. I sat beside her and pulled her to me and kissed the top of her head,

"It'll be okay Saya." I said softly

She sighed and tried giving me a convincing smile "I know." She said solemly beofre returning to her folding

"Well David said that we have to retreat for know and go back to base while he sets us up a new place. That and he wants Julia to do more research on this thing so we will have a better of a chance at capturing it." Kai said as he walked back over to us

Saya gave a small nod "Maybe it's better this way so that maybe next time we can actually capture it."  

"Saya it's not your fault, we thought it would be like anything else we've fought." Kai protested knowing that she blamed herself for not catching it

"David said he'd have a chopper here within the next few hours." He added

Saya just nodded before she went back to work. I glanced at her out of the corner of my eye and looked at her neck, an itching sensation in the back of my throat erupted. This must be what Julia was talking about, needing to feed ever so often like Saya. I looked away trying to get rid of the feeling, but it wouldn't leave.

"Saya..." I whispered my voice hoarse 

"I know Haji." She said standing up and taking my hand in hers

She led me away from the house so Kai wouldn't see us. As soon as we were out of reach I pressed her up against the nearest tree and lowered my head to her neck,

"My Queen...I'm sorry." I whispered

Saya ran her fingers through my hair taking it from it's ribbon

"It's okay. I've taken from you for centuries...you deserve it." She said softly

I couldn't respond, I didn't believe I deserved her blood and yet she offered it freely. I swiftly bit into her neck as my fangs pressed out from my lips and I became the monster I was. She sighed, not a heavy sigh but a content one. She tilted her neck to the side giving me a better access to her long and elegant neck. Her blood was sweeter than any candy or sweet the world could conjure up, I drank without hesitation and I felt my eyes glow red with blood lust.

Saya...forgive me. I'm a damned beast, but we will be beasts together. I felt a connection so deep with the woman I fed from right now, our blood was mixed, and as Queen and chevalier nothing could sever our bond. I pulled away and I licked my lips getting off the remaining blood. 

"Let's go, Haji." Saya said softly before we returned to Kai who was waiting by the chopper that has surprisingly arrived much quicker than expected.
