The snow crunched loudly under my boots as i walked towards the bus station. Somehow, this place has never felt the rays of warmth. There has only ever been snow, as far as the eye could reach.
The walk wasn't far. in fact, if i were to run i could make it in five minutes. However, i am too lazy to make any sudden moves.
Currently, it's winter, which means that the snow is thicker and the wind has been blowing harder than ever.
I tug on my undersized gloves in an attempt to keep warm. I look to my right. People will be taking down their christmas decorations soon. I despise this time of year.
Not because the weather is colder, but the people are done pretending to be happy towards other people.
The constant lining of the houses halt as the treeline seems to get closer.
The familiar yellow sign that i used to climb on when i was younger came into view.
I remember them laughing when i fell, and crying when i left. They were my friends, we played rough. That's the way it has been for years,
until it wasn't.
I sigh, as i tuck my hands in my pockets. I keep standing still, tapping my foot occasionally once a melody comes to mind.
Then, the bus came screeching to a halt. As always, the nasty lady yelled at me to 'hurry up and get on' because 'we're running late'.
Just like she did when i was younger.
I smile at the nostalgia that came flooding back.
I remember the red haired kid who sat next to me, who showed me his origami crane. I thought that was the coolest thing ever.
I admired him for the rest of the year. I wonder what he's doing now? Well, i guess it shouldn't mean anything to me.
How about the freckled kid that kept mentioning his grandfather as if he were a saint?
What about the girl with her homemade pink scarf, that she had embroidered with pretty flowers?
Then i woke up.
I rubbed my eyes, realising what i'd seen. Slantering out of my bedroom, i opened the blinds. Then it hit me again,
Everyone is dead now.
