Chapter Four

"Wake up sleepyhead,"

"Huh?" 

It was Alex, once again.

"Alex, go away," I grabbed a pillow and threw it at him.

"Vereena, you're coming with me today," He smiled.

I was very confused. It was early in the morning and my stepbrother hardly ever spoke to me.

"What do you mean I'm coming with you? I can't walk to school with you, mum takes me!" 

To my surprise, Alex actually started laughing. 

"We're not going to school. I'm going with my mates to the woods about half an hour away. You can come with me as a special guest. Just, don't be embarrassing. I'm trying to help you,"

I rose up and gave him a big hug. "Thanks Alex,"

"One more thing," He started. 

"What?"

"Lily's gonna come over with some new clothes and makeup for you. Y'know, so you can feel like a new person,"

"Wait, as in Lily Lily? Your girlfriend Lily?"

"You could say that, yeah," He grinned. "You'll like her,"
