Ch.0 The Beginning

Y/n POV)

I wandered the wilderness for days dragging the unconscious leader if bandits that have been terrorizing a local farm, forcing them to pay them for protection and taking their animals for food poor bastards were just trying to make a living. I managed to make my way to the farm and dropped the leader on the muddy ground while the man who owned the farm came out to see the leader "Y-You got him! I can't believe it! You caught him! Thank you... This means so much to me and my family" he exclaimed in joy "It's no problem" I said while checking the bindings on the leader "Now I suppose that your expecting your payment" he handed me a small bag of Lien but I shot my hand up "Keep the money" he looked confused "You need it more than me" he puts the bag away and starts to shake my hand "Again thank you for this" I nodded and began my walk back to camp on the trail.

The woods became darker but I managed to see where I was heading thanks to the moon light. I found my temporary campsite I relit the fire and threw some sticks in it "That'll do for now" I sat down on the ground "Better call it a night I've got a long day of walking back to town" my eyes got heavy and I started to drift off into sleep. I slept for a bit until I heard the sound of foot steps heading toward my direction I shot up and grabbed my rifle and aimed it waiting for whatever's there to attack that is until I heard a voice in the darkness

"Relax Mister L/n I'm not here to harm you I merely wish to talk" I was skeptical at first but I slowly lowered my rifle a bit and called back out to the voice "What do you want? And how do you know my name?" "Like I said I wish to talk to you "

I looked at him in confusion wondering why this man is out here "Fine" I said with bitterness I put away the rifle and sat back down next to the fire "Excellent" the man walked towards the fire and sat on the other side of the fire "Now what do you want mister..." "Ozpin" "Okay...Why are you out here?" "Why I'm looking for people to become the next generation of huntsman and huntresses" he said "And you thought what? That you can find them growing on trees or something?" My sarcastic comment made his laugh a bit "If only things were that simple Mister L/n. No I came here looking for you actually" I looked at him confused "I don't know whether to be flattered weirded out or threatened" "Heh I hear that you are a excellent shot with a rifle" I looked at my rifle "Ehh a little" I look back at him

"But your not getting to the point on why you're here Mister Ozpin" he pushes his glasses up a bit "I'm asking you to join my school Mister L/n" I glared at him "And the catch?" "No catch" I laughed at his comment "Ahhh great joke..." I noticed the serious look "Oh your not joking... Then fine I'll join this kiddie school of yours" he smirks "Excellent there will be a ship here tomorrow morning for your pick up. I shall see you tomorrow"

The ship Ozpin said showed up and with all my things already packed I hopped on the ship and began to find a seat in the far back of the ship. There were a few people already on board but I didn't want to talk to them so I sat there waiting to see what this school is all about. The ship made it's pick up with the remaining others on ship and set off to the school

The ship landed and all of the students began to hop off the ship while I waited for everyone else to get of I noticed I saw a kid who wasn't having the best ship ride struggling to walk off so I went to see if he was alright "You alright? The kid slowly turned to me wiping his mouth with his sleeve "Y-Yeah... I'm fine..." "You sure?" He waved his hand and in a mere second he felt fine "Whew... I'm okay now..." He said in a calm expression "Anyway my name is Jaune short, sweet, rolls off the tounge, ladies love it" I look at him confused "Uh huh... Y/n" After the name game I started to walk towards the school until I heard a loud explosion behind me "What the..." I turned around to see two girls and it looked like that they were the ones who caused it

"Unbelievable! This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about!" The one in white exclaimed in anger "I'm really really sorry..." The girl in red said on the ground "Don't get into it... Don't..." I thought "Ugh, you complete dolt! What are you even doing here!Aren't you a little young to be attending Beacon?!" The girl in red was about to say something but I responded for her "Well aren't you too old to be acting like a little kid?"

The girl in white turned around with a disgusted face "How dare you!" "How dare me? Did I do something daring?" "Don't you know who I am?!" I shook my head "Should I?" Then a voice spoke up near us "She's Weiss Schnee heiress to the Schnee Dust Company" I looked over to see a girl in black holding one of the vials "OH! I know you" I pointed at her "Your the one with the questionable business partners and something about the labor forces right?" She was fuming like a teapot "Why you... The nerve you have..." She swiped the vials from the girl and stormed off into the school

"Welcome to beacon..." I turned my attention back to the girl in red and stuck my hand out for a helping hand "You okay?' she grabbed my hand and began to pull her up "Yeah... thanks..." "Don't mention it" she dusted herself off and stood up straight "My name's Ruby by the way, Ruby Rose" she shot out her hand in front of me waiting for mine "Y/n L/n" I said while shaking her hand "Anyway we should probably get going"

We got in the auditorium and it was packed with a bunch of people all waiting for something "Ruby! Over here I saved you a spot!" I looked over to see a girl in yellow waving towards Ruby "Hey, I-I gotta go! I'll see you after the ceremony" I waved goodbye as she began to run over to her friend so I began to wander around to find an area where there's not a lot of people" I suppose this will do" Then the tapping of a mic rang through the auditorium I looked up to see Ozpin and some woman standing next to him "I'll... keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." "That was... odd..."

Night arrived and all of the others found their spot so I managed to find one that's mostly away from the rest. As I put my stuff on the ground and threw my coat on the ground I had an eerie feeling that I was being stared at so I turned around only for my eyes to be met with a pair of amber eyes staring back "Umm... were you saving this spot for someone?" "No" she calmly said "I see... Well uhhh..." the silence was creeping on us so I tried to derail this awkwardness "I'm Y/n" I put my hand out waiting for a handshake "Blake" she said without reaching for my hand so I retracted it back "Okay... well it's nice meeting you Blake if you'll excuse me I'll be right back" she nods as I get up to go find a different area to sleep. I turn to see Ruby struggling to get out of her friend's restraints

"Hello! I believe you two already met" the girl says to me as she lets go of her "Oh, it's you again" she says in a soft tone "Yeah, It's good to see you" I turn to her friend "And It's nice to meet you?" "Yang, I'm Ruby's older sister" I looked confused "Wait you look... Half sister huh?' she nods "Gotcha... well sorry to cut it short but I"m going to go sleep outside our of stupidity so I'll see you tomorrow "Awe okay bye
Y/n!" "Nice meeting you!" I waved goodbye as I find the door leading outside.
