The Sole Survivor walked down the road he could swear was the road they used in the original trailer. However now that he was there he wasn't sure anymore. His pace fell between marching speed and unsure where he was going. He had a "I told myself I wouldn't use the pip-boy map this playthrough" kind of mentality.

pip-boy map this playthrough" kind of mentality.

His companion stepped out from behind the player's engorged pip-boy inventory menu. He tried to speak over the dizzying affect of him scrolling down. It didn't count as looking since he didn't even look at where he was on the map.

"War changes all the time. It' s a little like reading a book as an adult and suddenly things relate suddenly there's more to it . Thematic devices and literary terminology become things for the writer not for the reader but the reader is too young to understand. It's different in every way from war to war. Some wars lasted over ten years. There used to be people specifically there to carry a flag or to tap on some bongos. Fast forward a few hundred years, there's political espionage and it's theoretically possible to shut down power grids of an entire nation from behind a keyboard."

Sandra Bullock or the guy from Ferris Bueller's Day Off starred in at least half that statement. His companion stepped out of a puddle of goo that gave the Geiger meter an erection. H o w d i d h e g e t h i s h a n d s o n t h e a l i e n b l a s t e r t h i s e a r l y . . .

An eye-bot drifted by spouting even more nonsense in a way that made his speech feel part of it. Almost mocking him. It said something about John Henry what's his name or other. Some dead politician with an absurd eye-bot budget for his reelection. Strange. They hardly ran into them ever since they murdered The Mechanist.

"Wow you hardly see those around anymore. Not since we murdered the mechanist," The Sole Survivors pondered.

"Yeah but getting back to the point. War is people killing each other and people tend not to want that to happen so they change and try to kill the other people. It has to keep changing. That statement is false unless the one thing that doesn't stop changing is the vigor our species has when devising ways to kill one another."

The Sole Survivor stared at the narrator. Specifically the subtitles that read.

O : "Dude. That's a theme, stop attacking the theme."

His companion tapped at the eyebot.

O: "John Henry Eden..."

"Have you ever noticed that they don't update their propaganda even though the enclave is destroyed?"

x: "They don't run on Wi-Fi so it's programmed to run on repeat. The rest is done via AI. "

He raised his gauss rifle and aimed at the eyebot.

"Don't kill it. It's obviously lost. It's like a bumble bee. Bumping into windows all adorable, just wandering around doing whatever it was told to all innocently- "

The charge of his gauss rifle cut him off.

"Ahh..."

x : "Please: Pick it up."

"It's on fire."

x: " I said please: pick it up."

"It's everywhere and only you can click on the piece of it that somehow has its inventory readied to be looted. Last time you made me I got stuck in a wall."

o: "I can always reload."

"I'm not wearing gloves and besides it probably only has fusion cells and scrap metal and dear God you're clicking on me and then the eyebot why would you click on me then the eyebot? Why would I be doing that oh no I'm heading towards it!"
