A/N: Hoi, this is a rewrite to the first Insomnia, which is the first completed fanfic I wrote. It was bad, so I decided to remake it. How it got 1 million views, I have no idea. If this is your first time reading one of my works, please don't read that one. It sucks and you will cringe. Thanks :>

A lot of things will be different in this one.

I was trying to be more consistent with the Japanese honorifics, but I'm just going to stick with the English translation/alternative. (Last name-san=Mr/Ms/Mrs whatever) AFO is referred to as Sensei to Shigaraki though.

There will be quite a few OCs around, so if you don't like fanfics with a lot of unfamiliar people, you can stop reading anytime you want. That goes for anything else you might find unlikeable in this story.

Reader is gender neutral. This means Mx. instead on Ms/Mr and they/them instead on he/him/she/her. I edited this in after completing it, please let me know if I missed any she/her or anything.

Also; slow burn. Slowest of burns.

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy this one! ❤️

"I feel like they spend way too much time with Mr. Aizawa."

"What do you mean? They're like polar opposites in personality."

"I mean, well, they both give off the same vibe."

"Don't forget appearance-wise too."

"I much prefer Mx. [L/N] to be honest. They're less scary."

The students chatted quietly as you pretended not to hear them, instead focusing on what the blond student with a tail was doing in front of you.

His moves were much better than the previous students you had sparred with. Fluent, quick, experienced. You were able to block his swings with much ease, however, and called for a stop.

"That was great," you commented. "You're already quite experienced with this."

"Thank you! I took martial arts classes before." Mashirao Ojiro, you're pretty sure was his name, bowed his head in appreciation.

You were a teacher at U. A. teaching quirkless combat. It was your third day here, and you've still managed to shock the students with your experience despite your sleep-deprived appearance and the said fact that you haven't slept for at least a few days, which they'd stopped believing.

You're pretty sure they believe more that Eraserhead, the teacher you've been paired with since you're new, was a hero despite his more sleep-deprived look.

It most likely had to do with quirks, after all. You couldn't give yourself a boost, like speed or strength, nor affect others, like blind or change, nor blast projectiles. You were glad you still had a quirk, however; Immunity.

You were immune to most quirks, such as Aoyama's lasers, Mina's acid, Mineta's tiny balls (both meanings). Ojiro's tail would still hurt you, though, and to your disappointment, Hagakure the Invisible Girl is still invisible.

After the tests to rank each student based on skill level and tracking them down on a clipboard, you called for a stop and nodded to Eraser.

"You all will be practicing quirkless combat with Mx. [L/N] between some of your usual classes," Eraser announced, if it could be described as an announcement with that low, tired voice of his. "It'll be every other day on your schedule."

A few groans and grumbles, and the murmur of "why", made you laugh.

"Quirkless combat is important, stop complaining," you said dismissively. You really didn't want to go over the whole explanation of why they had this class, but you had to. "Some of you can't control your power and might hurt someone with your quirk if you're close to them in a fight. You'll have to suppress it when it comes to that."

The class was dismissed with a few sad comments and a few rather rude comments from Bakugo.

Before you could check up on Eraser, the students started talking again thinking you didn't hear them.

"I dunno, didn't they say that they just started here? They probably just got acquainted with Mr. Aizawa."

The conversation about you being like Eraser was still carrying on, much to your amusement.

You glanced over to Eraser, expecting a question about your first class or how you were doing, but instead he was still looking through the papers of student information. He quickly threw a water bottle at you afterwards.

You caught it, snorting at the silence he gave you when throwing it. "Thanks. What do you think?" you asked.

"About the students?" Eraser shrugged. "They could've been better, but considering it's been the first few days, they do still have a lot to learn. You did fine though. I don't have to be here."

"It's quirkless combat. Some of them have a hard time suppressing their quirks, especially when fighting." You were really thirsty, drinking about half the bottle. "Your quirk helps a lot. At least for now when they're still getting the hang of it."

"They'll have to suppress it themselves eventually." He shrugged again. "You'll have to figure out how to keep it under control yourself tomorrow. Class B is with you tomorrow. Vlad King is their homeroom teacher if you want to talk with him."

"I'll figure out his students in class tomorrow. Improvising in the fight helps me, too, without knowing anything about them."

Eraser nodded, then walked off after giving you a few papers.

"Rude," you murmured nonchalantly, eyes briefing over the sheets of paper. You'll look over them later. Today's work was done, and with this being the first few days of school, there were more teacher things to do with forms and parents rather than tests and extra help. You had a smaller job at U. A. though, so you were thankful that white bear-mouse-rat principal hadn't given you more work.

You started your way to the teacher's lounge to get your things since you left earlier than the other staff members. You yawned. You weren't completely able to not sleep. The longest you've gone without sleep was about a little over a week, and even then the sleep lasted a few minutes before you were woken up. You had a short power nap before the entrance ceremony, and the need for sleep wore off after a while before it came back.

Now though, it was as if Eraserhead's sleepiness had rubbed off on you. You chuckled to yourself at how easily he sleeps, in his yellow sleeping bag in the middle of class. You sighed, wishing you could do that yourself.

"[L/N]!"

Present Mic, one of your new favorite people, no sarcasm included. His hyper energy seemed to transfer to you, and although Eraser didn't appreciate it, you loved his personality. You imagined Eraser was the kind of person who couldn't live without coffee in the morning and Present Mic was the kind of person who didn't need coffee nor sugar since it was already in his blood.

He ran, or rather walked with those long legs of his, up to you as you packed your things in a bag.

"How was the first day of teaching?"

"They've still got a lot to learn," you replied. "It was fun though! Can't believe you taught here for longer, these kids are crazy."

"Oh, you'll definitely get used to it!" Hizashi set some papers on a table. You felt that he was one of those chill teachers that gave little to no work, and therefore had little paperwork to grade and check. Maybe you should try that tactic. "Heading home?"

"Yep, I've finished up with most of everything. Have fun." You said the last two words in English, waving goodbye to him before leaving.

Perhaps being a teacher wasn't such a bad idea.
