"Yeah..." I said slowly.

"OMG!" she jumped circles around me on the pavement, "He kissed you!!!" she suddenly stopped and turned to me, a serious look in her eyes. "He kissed you, right?"

"Yes." I sighed. Autumn continued jumping around me. This is going to be a long day.

---

I was 100% right. It was the longest day of my life. My ENTIRE life so far. We walked, walked some more and talked the whole way. Well, Autumn did the talking. She took me back to her house, which is pretty nice. After spending a long time there, I finally lied and said I had to go home and cook for Liam. I know, you probably think I lie a lot, but I'm not that bad! She complained and asked why Liam can't cook. I had to explain that being a 15 year old boy, it isn't in their nature to cook something. She eventually gave in, and I walked home in the rain. I was walking up the driveway when Liam flew out the door, slamming it behind him he then sprinted full out to me. Being a fox he can sprint fast, and he didn't bother leaving any time to slow down so he ran straight into me. Lucky I didn't fall over.

Liam hugged me desperately and he started sobbing.

Something was REALLY wrong. Liam never cries!

"Li. Calm down." he took a big breath and pulled his face away from my shoulder and looked me in the eye. Terror was the one and only emotion emitting from his eyes.

I frowned. "Liam, what's wrong?"

"In your room. A huge crash. Your furniture. A piece of paper." he struggled to get out full sentences.

"Woah. Full sentences. From the start." I gripped his shoulders firmly.

"When you went out, I did some homework. Chemistry actually. Then I watched some movies, they were The Avengers, a James Bond movie, King Kong, and, err 17 Again."

I interrupted him. "You actually watched that?"

He ignored me and went on.

"Then I was just reading a book on my bed when..." he was looking at the ground now.

"Then what?" I prompted him gently. His eyes flashed up to mine again.

"A crash. Really loud coming from your room. I went in, and, and, all your furniture had been like torn up! Your curtains ripped, your dressing table all splinted and your bed literally in half." I stopped him.

"Was anyone there?"

"Well, no." he hung his head, as though it was all his fault.

"Where's Dad?" I asked.

"Work." Liam mumbled.

I pulled Liam's hand, he resisted.

"And, there was one other thing."

"What?" I asked, getting nervous.

"A piece of paper. With your name on it. With writing, kind of like a poem, but not."

"What did it say?" I demanded.

"I don't remember!" he snapped.

I turned on my heel and ran inside, Liam hot on my tail (not literally). We burst into my room. Everything, like everything, was either completely wrecked or damaged.

"There." Liam pointed to one broken half of my dressing table.

I approached the paper carefully.

It read:

Clover.

You will be chosen,

But you cannot accept,

Take back your mate

And your duo shall last

Truth shall be seen

And truthful shall be heard.

I felt my heart beating against my rib cage.

I had a faint idea of where this came from.

"The Royal Guards." I muttered under my breath.

Liam looked up at me, confusion etched all over his face.

"When the heir to the throne of Henchman House needs a mate, they force all the girls of our kind who have just turned 17 to Austria, where they are based, to be chosen to be wedded by the heir. One day to become queen."

Liam looked at me sadly.

"You just turned 17."

"I know." I whispered.

I had heard of this heir as well, apparently he is a total idiot who is stupid and a jerk. Everyone hates him because he is so self-obsessed. Once, a few years ago, when the kingdom was visiting the poorer area of their palace, stupid little Luke the dumb heir to the throne decided he wanted all the jewels that were meant for the peasants, and hid them. He blamed it on a 9 year old girl and she was sent to prison for the rest of her life. No evidence required, just the word of an 11 year old prince and a 9 year old's life is ruined.

"Isn't the heir a complete jerk or something?" Liam questioned innocently.

I gritted my teeth. "Yup."

I stared down at the perfect cursive writing again.

Those words just don't make sense.

I will chosen? For what? And by whom?

Take back my mate? Mate? Really! I don't have a mate, how could I 'take the them back'?

And a duo lasting. What. The. Hell.

How can truth be seen and truthful be heard? Truthful is not tangible! You can't freakin hear it! Maybe thats referring to my super human hearing. Maybe.

I sighed.

This was a prophecy. My prophecy.
