I walked into my apartment that I shared with my best friend Moss. I locked the door behind me and put my shoes in the coat closet.

"Moss! I'm back!" There was no response. "Moss?" I walked to his room and knocked on the miniature door. "Moss are you in there?" Leaning down I put my ear next to the door. Inside there was soft crying. "Moss, what's wrong?" I twisted the tiny knob opening the door. I looked in and saw my friend lying on their bed. I reached my hand in and gently picked them off of their bed. Gently cradling them in my hands I asked: "Hey what's wrong?" I wiped the tears from their face

"My dad called again and was bothering me about being gay again. Hera I can't deal with him anymore."

"Hey, Hey it's going to be okay. We'll figure this out I promise. Everything is going to be okay. He can't hurt you anymore remember?" I stroked his back with my index and middle finger. "Moss I love you so much." I slowly stood up and headed to the living room I sat on the couch and placed him inside my shirt pocket. They leaned against my chest listening to my heartbeat. They always said it was comforting listening to it.

"Can I stay in your room tonight? I don't want to be alone."

"Of course. That's why we have an extra bed on my dresser." I grabbed the remote and put on some cartoons. "Moss I love you so much. Thanks for being my best friend."

"Love you too Hera."
