chapter one _ welcome to Riverdale

Will's POV

Riverdale, it's where I'm going to have a fresh start , more specifically where I'm going to prepare myself for death. Unfortunately my drug trial didn't work and which means I can't have a lung transplant although I really need it. So, my lung function is decreasing every day and soon, I'll lose the ability to breathe.
Actually I didn't expect to die before I turn 20 but I think I'm okay with that. As soon as I found out that I don't have much time left, I decided to move to another town and I chose Riverdale; why? Because I wanted to be far from Stella . I didn't want her to find me. Once I ruined her life and it's not happening again.
I didn't have enough money to buy a house and I just made a deal with someone who named FP Jones. He said that he had an extra room and he wanted someone to live with him. As soon as I arrived to Riverdale I took a taxi and talked to my mom on my way
"Hey Will, Are you ok? Did you arrive?" She asked
"Yeah I'm fine. Don't worry " I said
"I'm missing you so much Will "
"Oh mom it's been only six hours since we said goodbye "
"I know but what can I say? I'm a mother but I don't think you'll ever understand what I say "
"Of course I do. I'm missing you too "
"Will, promise you'll take care of yourself "
"I will mom. Don't worry "
"Okay Bye "
"Goodbye mom "
I hung up the phone and a few minutes later I was in front of the Jones house. FP opened the door for me and greeted me well. He showed me my bedroom and told me to see him in the living room. I put my suitcases in the corner and took a look at the room. It was really nice and it was designed for a boy at my age. Everything was good but there was something that made me kinda nervous; there were lots of medical stuffs in that room. Was there a sick person in that house? It was none of my business.
I went to downstairs to see FP. I sat on a couch because I was super tired.
"So, what do you think boy ? Do you like it in Riverdale? " he asked
"Yeah, it's a nice town. Sorry if I ask but do you live alone?"
"Me? No. I live with my daughter and wife and... Yeah I just live with them. You'll see them soon "
"That's great "
"Hey boy can I ask you something?"
"Of course "
"Why do you have an oxygen tank? "
"It's because of my sickness; it's called Cystic fibrosis and it has lowered my lung function. So, that's why I have to use it "
"I'm so sorry boy "
"Oh don't be. Actually it's the best part of my disease. I'm sure you don't wanna know more about it "
"I hope you get better boy and thanks for telling me. Now, do want to rest or do you want to visit the town with me?"
"I think I wanna see the town but I don't want to take your time "
"Oh boy, today I'm free; just for you. Now get ready, I'll be waiting in the car"
I went upstairs to change my clothes and took some of my meds, then I got into the car and we went to visit Riverdale.

Betty's POV
"Betty I'm saying that you should forgive yourself. You can blame yourself as much as you want but you know that it's not going to make him alive " Veronica said. She's been saying the same thing for months, maybe because she can't understand the guilt that I feel.
"Ronnie, I'm begging you to stop talking about him. You know how I feel about that " I said
"Oh Betty I understand you. I won't talk about him again "
"I'm missing so much Ronnie. I didn't even have time to say goodbye " I said crying and then Veronica and Archie came to hug.
"It's ok Betty. He was our friend and we're all missing him but think positive.  He's happy right now and it's the best thing we can wish for our friend " Archie said
"Guys, I wanted to say something. I know it's kinda rude but can we stop talking about him like forever? It's been six months and we are still talking about him even when we don't want to. As Archie said, he's happy. So why should we be upset for our best friend's happiness? I'm sorry but we should stop mourning for Jughead, fine?" Veronica asked.
Archie and I both nodded and after that we tried to change the topic by talking about things like college when FP entered the diner. He wasn't alone and there was a boy with him.
Actually I hadn't seen FP since Jughead's funeral and I had no idea who that guy was.
"Wow ,is that FP? He finally showed up after months " Veronica said
"I'm glad he's finally out of house. Jughead's death really depressed him "Archie said
"Who is that boy? Is he his nephew or something?"
"He can't be his nephew; FP was the only child "
"And why does he have an oxygen tank? Do you think he's sick? We should find out "
"Guys,did you even notice that he really looks like Jughead?" I asked
"Yes ! He does! OMG I'm dying to know who is that guy. I'm going to ask him myself " Veronica said and she then went to FP . Archie and I were watching them the whole time.

Veronica's POV

I went to say Hi to FP and the guy he came with.
"Hi mr. Jones. I missed you so much. I'm happy you're here after months. " I said
"Hey Veronica. Actually I'm having a guest and I was showing him the town. Will, this is Veronica. She's the owner of this diner and she can be one of your best friends " he said
"Hey will, it's nice to meet you. Are you new here?"
"Yeah, I'm new and it's really nice to meet you too " Will said
"He just arrived today and he'll be living in my house. " FP said
"Cool . Now I know where to find you. By the way, I'm usually here and if you needed friends, you know where to find me " I said
"Thank you Veronica. I really appreciate it "
"I don't wanna interrupt you anymore. Goodbye for now "
I came to back Archie and Betty. I was so happy about the things I knew and I couldn't wait to tell them. I sat in the booth and I was so excited
"Guys, you have no idea who that boy is"
