My life seemed to suck a lot more than usual. I mean, before it was just bad hair days, stuck-up preps, stupid football players, and, of couse, the occasional bad grade. But lately, you could say things had gotten worse.
If by worse you mean getting hit by a bus.
It had started out like every other day, my hair wouldn't do what I wanted it to, my friend couldn't pick me up for school because her car broke down, so I had to either walk to school or ride the bus. Not wanting to walk several miles in the snow, I chose to ride the bus.
So I walked down the street and across the road to the bus stop (I was the only person who lived down here because everyone that did graduated from high school last year) and waited for almost 20 minutes.
Not really wanting to go to school and wanting nothing more than to go back home and crawl back into bed, I sighed and turned to go back across the road, not even paying attenion.
And that was my mistake.
The bus came speeding down the road then, much faster than it should have been going. It slid on the ice and didn't stop as it came closer I screamed right as it gained contact with me.
But it wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. I mean, yeah it was painful, but something definitely cushioned the impact. I tried to look around, but my entire body hurt and I could barely feel my body.
A boy stepped in front of me and I had to admit, he was beautiful. He had golden brown hair and pretty violet eyes with milky pale skin. He also had white wings that glowed and I thought I was hallucinating. This couldn't be real.
The boy leaned down next to me and put his arms around me. "Don't worry, Willow," he said. "I'm here now."
Then my world went black....
