Chapter 1: The Prophecy
Dherwicked, Forest
"Oi tanda!" A girl shouted happily as she slammed the door closed. The man sitting on the chair chocked on his tea in surprise.
"Song? Ilang beses ko ba sasabihin na wag mo akong tawaging tanda, I'm still too young to be a senior citizen," sabi ni Joner, song's currently master and guardian, habang hinahawakan ang kanyang dibdib na para bang tinusok sya ni song sa kanyang puso. Hindi mapagilan ni song ang mapatawa sa sinabi ng kanyang mentor.
"But you're already 85 years old to be young tanda, believe it or not but uugod ugod ka na," Song happily said while walking to the sofa at kumuha ng sarili nyang tea. Joner lets out a sigh at her words. Song has been in his care for 18 years, they are not blood related, but Joner considered song as his grandchild. Two years old pa lang si song nang kunin sya ni Joner under his wing. Joner can still remember that day, the day he saw the two year old child heavily bruised and on the verge of death.
A loud thunder breaks the deafening silence followed by the angry drops of rain.
Joner stop reading the quest from the King as the earth beneath him shakes like an earthquake, follow by a dragon's cry that shook his entire place.
'A dragon? Pero anong ginagawa ng dragon sa kalagitnaan ng kagubatan?!' Joner thought in surprise. Dragons are rare sight to see because they tend not to be seen by humans. Also, kilala ang mga dragons na nagtratravel as a group not individually. Biglang napaisip si joner kung pupuntahan nya ba ang dragon na base sa lakas ng boses kanina, its not far from his home. 'This is scary, dragons are intelligent, but they have no mercy especially to humans, going outside of this house and see that dragon is suicidal,' Joner thought carefully and decided na hindi worth it na lumabas ng bahay at maging isang dinner sa dragon.
'I'm only 67 years old, I'm still young to die,' Joner thought to himself while nodding his head. Just imagining his bones crushing in a dragon's mouth is enough to send shivers on his back. Kahit man isa sya sa top Legendary Element Users, hindi nya kayang i-risk ang buhay nya sa isang dragon, after all may mga ibang dragons na immune sa magic.
'Human.' Biglang nagsitayuan ang balahibo ni Joner nang marinig nya ang malalim na boses ng dragon sa kanyang isipan.
"Yes?" Nanginginig na tanong ni Joner. Halos mapaihi na sya sakanyang pants nang mapansin nya ang napakalaking mata sa kanyang bintana, its purple hues are looking straight at him, its iris shrinks similar to a cat.
