Oh my gosh, I'm SO sorry for the long wait. Life has been crazy and inspiration has been lacking :( But I'm back, hopefully! At least for this chapter, 1 step at the time xD Thanks so much for all the support so far on this story! Hope you guys will enjoy this chapter!

By the time Lexi gets to her apartment, she has almost broken down at least 5 times. But she never did. She couldn't because then people would know something was up.

But every time she saw something that reminded her of Lewis, she was on the verge of tears. She started doubting if she had made the right decision by going home. Doubting that this was the right thing for their relationship.

However, when she walks through the doors of the apartment she shares with Lewis, she knows she has. An oasis of calm and quiet lays in front of her, something she hasn't experienced in months, if not years. Lexi takes a deep breath, feeling the stress leave her body as she breathes out.

"Welcome home," Lexi says to herself, having not been her properly for quite a while. They have stayed here a few nights every now and then, but then they always had to fly to a new place. This time, she'll be able to spend some proper time her.

She walks to the kitchen and starts making herself a cup of coffee. As she waits for the cup to brew, she goes through the cupboards, realizing there's pretty much nothing in there. Some serious grocery shopping is required. She takes out her phone and starts making a list of all the things she needs. Once she finishes, she takes her coffee and walks out onto the balcony.

Taking a deep breath, she takes in the incredible view and fresh air. She hadn't realized how much she had missed this place whilst traveling over the world. She remembers when she officially moved in with Lewis. Even though she had stayed over at his place before, it was so different when she actually moved there.

It immediately felt like home, something she had never really experienced before. She had moved around quite a bit and it always took her some time to get used to a new place. But not when she moved in with Lewis. It was one of the things that assured her she had made the right decision as a lot of people felt they were rushing things quite a bit.

But she knew they didn't rush anything, they did things exactly right.

Until now, that is.

Lexi sighs, making her way back inside, trying to shake the feeling of guilt. She knows Lewis didn't fully agree with her decision. She knows he does feel like things are, were exactly right. And she hates she can't say the same about the situation. But all she can do right now is try to make sure things go back to the way they were. And she'll make sure they do.

After unpacking her luggage, she starts getting ready to go grocery shopping. She knows there's a big chance people will see her there, but she can't really go without food. And she doesn't want to get groceries delivered as she longs for some feeling of normalcy back in her life. She'll risk being spotted and rumors starting to swirl, even though she would've preferred to avoid that for a bit.

With a big bag and the list of things she needs, Lexi makes her way to the store. Luckily, it doesn't seem to be too busy. People are mostly minding their own business, not paying much attention to her. By the time she gets to the checkout, she has filled her basket with all the necessities and some of her favorite foods, wanting to treat herself a bit.

"Lexi?" she suddenly hears someone say behind her. She turns around confused, not sure who could be here right now. To her surprise, it's someone she hasn't seen in ages.

"Mike?" Lexi says surprised, a smile appearing on her face.

"It is you! I haven't seen you in ages! How have you been?" Mike asks as he goes to hug her. Lexi steps forward him to hug him back, happy to see a familiar face.

"I've been busy, traveling all across the world. How about you?"

"Yeah, I saw some pictures on your IG. You're living a pretty crazy life huh? And I've been good, busy as well. Having your own company isn't always as fun as it sounds," Mike says, making Lexi chuckle.

"I can imagine. But it's going well then I assume?"

"Really well, been hiring new people every month this year. Can hardly keep up with all the work."

"That's great Mike, congrats! I know this has been a dream of you for years!"

"It has been, yeah. Crazy where life takes you, right?"

"It really is," Lexi chuckles, thinking of the crazy things that have happened in her life already.

"We should get coffee soon, catch up for real. Are you in town for just the week or longer?"

"Longer, don't know how long yet tho."

"Oh, oh, trouble in paradise?" Mike teases, however when he sees the look on Lexi's face, his smile drops.

"A little, yeah."

"I'm sorry to hear that Lex. But let's catch up soon and you can tell me all about it, okay?"

"Sounds great!"

"I have to run, do you still have my number?"

"I do, yeah."

"Alright, text me tomorrow when you have time!"

"Will do! See you tomorrow!" Lexi says before Mike walks off. Lexi can't help but smile, feeling a lot better about everything after running into an old friend. At least things won't be as tough as they would've been on her own.

What do you think? Who's Mike? What do you think of him? Like him? Hate him? Let me know in the comments! Hopefully, another update will come soon. Or at least not take as long as this one did xD Thanks for all the support!
