"So, what are you planning on doing today?" I asked Nasuada as we entered a hallway. Nasuada only smiled at me before entering a room that had two maids puttering around with different fabrics and materials.
"Your wedding dress," Nasuada replied. "I thought you might want help from familiar faces."
Shifting Selene in my arms, I raised an eyebrow at the dark-skinned queen before really looking at the two maids.
"Oh," I quietly breathed out.
"Well, it's about time you brought her, your majesty," Frida said sternly. "her dress won't make itself."
"Indeed," Lydia huffed from where she was flipping through different fabrics. Frida strode over and smiled at Selene.
"And who is this little lady?" She asked, Selene stared at Frida for a few seconds before smiling brightly at the older woman and squealing.
"This is my daughter, Selene," I said slowly. Frida smiled gently at Selene.
"She has her father's eyes," Frida said, well I guess it wasn't that hard for her to figure out who Selene's father was. Frida clapped her hands together. "alright now, your highness, hand your daughter off to Tolme, tis time to create your wedding dress!"
I handed Selene off to Tolme, who started to smile and grab at the red hair.
"Selene, no pulling her hair," I said sternly. Selene squealed back at me as I let Frida drag me towards a pedestal. Fen padded over with curious eyes as I started to take off my layers.
"Well then, your highness, what look do you think you want?" Lydia asked. I stared at the different bolts of fabrics.
"I think I want to go with a flower theme," I said as a start. "you two know I don't like anything too heavy or elaborate."
"I think you would like the handsewn lace flowers my brother's wife is known for," Frida mused as Lydia pulled out a bolt of fabric that looked light as a feather.
"Why don't we make the entire dress out of this hybrid material?" Lydia offered. "tis a mixture of our lightest material combined with lace."
Frida held the bolt up to my body and scrutinized the material. She nodded in approval before handing the bolt back to Lydia and grabbing a measuring ribbon.
"Alright, your highness, let's see how much motherhood had changed you." I spent the next half-hour being measured and questioned on what I wanted the shape of the dress to be. I settled on the classic a-line skirt with an extra-long train that would be decorated with hundreds of lace flowers.
"Alright, alright, you have enough information from me," I groaned out. "Isn't it time to ask what Fen wants to wear?"
"Alright then," Frida replied, shooing me off the pedestal. "come, child, stand here."
Fen nervously approached the two maids and stepped up onto the pedestal, once again, she was hiding her red-eye behind a curtain of brown locks.
"What do you want to look like, dear?" Frida asked. Fen shifted on the pedestal.
"Mommy, I wanna look like my mommy," Fen muttered out. Frida smiled at Fen before bringing up the measuring ribbon.
"She is so precious," Tolme moaned from her seat next to me. I smiled at her before adjusting Selene in my arms, she had passed out after getting attention from both Nasuada and Tolme.
