Chapter 12 : you're dating a genius

She taps the button to take the call and takes a deep breath closing her eyes after putting the phone on speaker as Maritza wanted to hear what the guys were saying

"Hey skinny"

A drunk voice came from the other line, Flaca stayed silent

"You have work"

He continued dragging words

"No I don't, I gave you all the assignments two days ago"

Flaca says quietly

"Well I have another assignment that needs to be done by tomorrow so"

He continues chuckling

"I'm not going to be able to write it, I'm out of the house and I have my little cousin with me"

Flaca says already panicking

"Oh am I suppose to give a fuck?"

Keith asks obviously being sarcastic

"I asked a question skinny"

He continues hearing no response

"No"

Flaca said quietly making Marthese frown at how the young woman was being treated

"Exactly, I want my assignment tomorrow till second period I want a B-"

He says making Flaca slowly hit her head against the table while Maritza was so mad she could have thrown Lucas at the phone right now, instead she paced back and forth her teeth clenched together and her bottom lip in between

"Ok it'll be ready"

Flaca says pinching the space between her eyebrows knowing that Lucas won't let her work for sure

"Oh I know it'll be"

Keith continues his words sloppy

"Oh one more thing, what's going on with you and Maritza"

Keith says, not even making it a question, he stated it as if he knew something was up

"What do you mean? Nothing's going on"

Flaca quickly responds looking over at Maritza who was now silent while her mother gave her a slap on the arm once she heard Maritza's name being mentioned as she was even more shocked

"Don't lie skinny"

He continues his voice becoming more firm
Flaca gulps in nervousness closes her eyes before speaking again

"I'm not lying, she needs help in chemistry and I offer that, we're barely friends she's just my student"

Flaca replies as calm as possible

"There better not be anything going on skinny, or you're getting hurt big time, you know it's been a while since you took a trip to the hospital"

He says making Flaca run a hand through her long locks

"Nothing's going on between us she's not into girls as far as I know"

Flaca says hoping that would convince him, but Keith still wasn't sure

"Sure but a little bit of charm from you and you never know, better not be planning on any shit Gonzales, our man has his eyes on her already"

Keith warns her one last time

"You all got your eyes on her, and I can't be charming my self esteem is buried 50 feet underground, I'm not gonna try anything I just wanna help her out"
