"When you are dead, you don't know you are dead. It is only those who are not dead who suffer from your passing. The same can be said for when you are stupid." Random Facebook Post

I'm pretty sure I'm dead.

I'm not speaking metaphorically, or saying I'm about to die. Nor is this some literary device to provide a unique perspective to a fictional story. This is not fiction. At least I don't think it is. I'm saying I'm conclusively, permanently, and irrevocably deceased, expired, departed – dead.

If you are confused by this, imagine how I must feel. Yeah, I didn't think dead people felt anything either, but apparently, we do feel confusion. I'm not only confused about my current state, but also even about the how, when, and where of my passing. You would think I might be aware of those sorts of particulars. I mean, I'm not even sure how I'm writing this or who I am writing it for. I'm not even sure why. Perhaps I'm just trying to sort things out, but what does it matter if I'm dead? Confusing, right?

What makes me think I'm dead? I have a fair amount of compelling evidence including a grave stone, an obituary, a couple of out of body experiences, and just too many other clues that offer no other reasonable explanation. That doesn't even include the fire plug in the middle of the forest, but that requires explanation that I'll get to later. This all sounds crazy I know, but it is all true.

Let me try to sort this more logically. I do have some ideas as to the how, when and where of my demise. I have plenty of memories of brushes with death. I'm just not sure which ones came before I died and which ones were created afterwards. Most importantly, I don't know which one actually resulted in my final passing. Maybe if we looked at each incident and some possible explanations, we can make sense of this. Anyway, if you are interested in helping figure this out, read on.
