S4 E11- Girl Meets Date

*Hours later, at Topanga's*

"I can't believe you said that to him!" I roll my eyes at Missy and serve the food at the clients
"I didn't say yes"
"But you didn't say no! We're talking about Charlie Gardner here!"
"Charlie Gardner? What'd he do?" Elliot asks with amusement
"Nothing. Where are the smoothies?" he hands them to me
"There you go"
"Thank you" I take them and give them to the clients
"But seriously, what'd he do?" nobody answers. We all know that Elliot would go 'Jock Elliot' if he found out that Charlie asked me out.
"Guys?" still no answer. He sighs and kneels down in front of his sister, giving her the puppy eyes. He knows damn well she can't resist them!
"Riley, be careful with-"
"Charlie asked Maya out!" he immediately stands up
"He did what?!"
"And Maya said she'll think about it!"
"You did what?!" I sigh
"Chill, I didn't say yes"
"But you also didn't say no!"
"I'm considering the offer!"
"You like Charlie?"
"He's kinda cute. You have to admit it. Maybe I judged him too soon. He could be cute on the inside as well"
"Maya, you know damn well you don't like him" I groan.
"Yeah, that 's true. But I couldn't say no to him. We were surrounded by everyone! I didn't want to embarrass him"
"Please tell that you're not going out with him, Maya"
"Who's Maya going out with?" A familiar voice asks. Josh. Well, he came sooner than expected.
"Uncle Josh!" Riley awkwardly walks up to him and hugs him.
"Hi Riley. Who's Maya going out with?" I nervously chuckle.
"Nobody. This kid asked me out and I said that I would think about it"
"Oh, did you think about it?" I start cleaning a table
"Frankly, I didn't have to. I just didn't want to say no in front of the whole school"
"Good choice. You know why?" I stop and look up at him
"Why?"
"Because I wanted to ask you out" I frown. Why is everyone so interested in me now that I'm single? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
"Why?" I ask again
"Why, what?" I approach him so that I'm looking at him right in the eyes
"Why are you asking me out?" he frowns
"Because I like you. And you're also the age of legal consent now" I remain silent
"If that's not okay with you I totally understand. Just say something, please"
"Yes" I say without thinking
"Yeah?" I hesitantly nod
"Yeah. Where do you wanna go?"
"Movies? How about tonight? I'll pick you up at  seven" I nod
"Yeah, sounds good to me"
"Great. Elliot?" he puts on a fake a smile
"Yeah?"
"Can you get me a double espresso, please? I haven't slept in ages" I notice that Elliot looks kinda angry. Is this another of his mood swings?
"Oh, don't worry. I'll do it" I reply
"Really? Thanks" I nod
"No problem. Do any of you guys want something?" Zay raises his hand
"Oh! A cappuccino!"
"I want a milkshake!" Riley says excitedly 
"One strawberry smoothie with two straw for us" I smile at the couple
"Elliot?"
"Don't worry. I'm fine" I nod and walk behind the counter to prepare everything. Am I seriously going on a date with Uncle Boing? After all these years?!

*At night, Hunter's apartment*

"Do I look good?" I ask my mom
"Of course you do" Shawn crosses his arms over his chest
"I don't know why you're putting all that effort into your outfit. You're going to the movies. It's gonna be dark" I chuckle
"You're right. But what about when he'll pick me up?"
"The sun is already down, Maya. Still dark. Still no point into putting that effort for a simple outfit"
"Can't I just wear a cute outfit just because I want to?"
"That sounds better than wearing it just for a boy" I receive a text. It's Josh asking me if I'm ready
"I gotta go now guys, see ya"
"Good luck on that date Maya"
"Thanks mom" I hug both of them
"I'm happy you're finally feeling better"
"I'm happy too, dad" He smiles widely
"Is it okay if I call you that?" he nods happily
"I'd be honored"
"Great"
"Go have fun now, kiddo. But not too much"
"Sure!" I climb out of the bay window and meet Josh on the sidewalk
"Hey"
"Hey" there's a brief moment of silence before he awkwardly opens his arms for a hug
"Okay" I chuckle nervously and hug him
"You ready?" I nod
"Yeah" he opens the car door for me
"Thanks"
"You're welcome madam" I get in and he does too
"So, which movie are we gonna watch?"
"Well, I chose for a classic: The Shining" he start driving
"I love that movie!"
"I'm glad you do"
"So, why did you go live with the Matthews?"
"My roommate, I couldn't stand him anymore"
"Oh, you mean-"
"Please don't even mention him" he softly laughs
"He was too much to handle"
"What did he do?" I ask with curiosity
"I couldn't study at all. He blasted his music all day long and brought a new girl every night"
"What about you?"
"What?"
"Have you ever blasted your music? Have you ever brought any girl?" I whisper the last question, hoping that he didn't hear me.
"Music, no. Girls, I gotta be honest with you, only a couple" I playfully roll my eyes
"Yeah, I don't believe you" he start laughing
"Why not?"
"You definitely brought more than just a couple of girls!"
"What makes you think that?"
"Well I-" I start blushing
"Because you are a Boing"
"Why, thank you. You're pretty much a Boing by yourself too" This is gonna be an interesting night...

*After their date, inside Josh's car*

Yeah, it wasn't. We just watched the movie. The only thing that happened was him holding my hand, that's it. This is mostly my fault. I didn't even talk to him, I just ate and looked at the screen
"I'm sorry" I blurt out and he pulls over
"For what?"
"Ruining our date. I didn't even pay attention to you"
"Hey, it's fine. I understand"
"You do?" he nods
"Yeah. We paid to watch that movie and eat those popcorns so we had to enjoy them" I chuckle
"Yeah. Thanks for making me feel better"
"It's fine. You didn't ruin anything"
"Really? We just held hands"
"You wanted to do something more?" I stay silent for a moment before crashing my lips onto his. We kiss for a hot minute until I pull away.
"You wanted to do this?" he asks with a smirk and I look away
"Just shut up already" he chuckles before taking my arm and helping me sit on his lap and straddle him.
"Can I kiss you?" I nod in response and we get back to kissing. I run my hands through his hair while his travel the back of my body. From my waist to the back of the neck. Pulling me closer with every kiss. This feels amazing. He licks my lips for entrance and I happily give it to him. I can't believe it, I'm kissing Josh, Uncle Boing. I've waited so many years for this and it was definitely worth it.
He moves his lips from my mouth to the neck. Gently sucking on it, causing me to moan.
"Damn, Lucas..." Why did I say that? I've ruined everything! Shit!
He immediately pulls away
"I-I'm sorry. I should go now" I open the door and quickly climb through the fire escape before he can say anything.
Why do I always have to ruin everything?!
"Babygirl? You're back?" mom asks me and comes in the room when I climb in through the window
"Yeah"
"So? How'd it go?" I sigh
"Bad, really bad"
"What do you mean?" dad comes in
"Did he do something?" I shake my head
"No. I did. I'm a terrible person!"
"Okay, I'm sure you're overreacting and that it's nothing-"
"I called him Lucas, mom"
"Oh, well, that can happen-" I interrupt Shawn
"While we were kissing!"
"Oh, well, that's bad"
"I know!"
"Wait, you kissed on the first date? Shouldn't the kissing happen at the third?"
"No, sex is at the third date"
"Then you're only allowed to go on two dates with the same boy" I groan in frustration and lay on the bed, hiding my face on the pillow
"What have I done?!" He sighs and mom starts stroking my hair
"Listen, kiddo. You're definitely not over Lucas yet so I don't recommend you to date until you're completely over him, got it?" I nod
"As for Josh, just talk to him. I'm sure he'll understand. And if he doesn't then I'll have a few words with him. Get some sleep now, okay?" I slowly nod
"Goodnight babygirl"
"Goodnight mom" she kisses my head and both of them leave.
Am I really not over Lucas yet? Am I ever gonna be over him?
My thoughts are interrupted by phone ringing. I pick up without looking at the call ID
"Hello?"
"Hey, Maya. It's me, Charlie"
"Charlie. Yeah, sure. How can I help you?"
"Have you thought about my proposal?" I sigh
"Listen, you're great and all that but-"
"Okay. I get it"
"I'm sorry, Charlie. I truly am"
"It's fine. Thank you for telling me the truth and not tricking me into believing that you actually have feelings for me like-"
"Riley?"
"Yeah, like her"
"Yeah, that was pretty immature but she has grown up. I'm sure she's learned not to do it anymore"
"I hope so. Bye, Maya"
"Bye" I hang up.
I really wanna go back to last year. Everything was so simple back then.
