The elves of house Arkania were celebrating the birth of their new princess, Sylva when a tired and dispirited demon that several of them recognized as lord Raleigh's gryphowl, Athena, landed among them. In her arms were a baby boy and a hastily scrawled note on his chest. The note read " This is my son, his name is Fletcher. Our home was attacked and I will very likely be killed but if I am not then I will come to get him. Please keep him safe, Edmund Raleigh.

The party was disbanded leaving only chieftainess Arkania, her husband and their daughter, the newborn. A/N I know has an older sister but in this, she won't. Chieftainess Arkenia turned to her husband and said: " Could you please take Sylva up to our room." Then she turned to Fletcher and said " Now little Fletcher, let's hope your daddy comes. And in the meantime, I'll send an eagle to King Harold."

King Harold was furious, to say the least. He had just been informed that his best friend in all the world was gone and the only survivor from the brutal Orc attack was Edmund's captain, sir Caulder. Harold was on his way to check on the knight and get a report on what had actually happened. But let's just say that the injured man did not say what the king was expecting him to say.

He walked into the infirmary where sir Caulder was being treated and saw the man in question sitting up in the bed waiting for him. When he saw the king step into the room he said in a hushed whisper " The boy is still alive your majesty."

Harold reeled back in shock but still managed to gasp out " Wh, what. How can a newborn baby have survived an attack like that?" Sir Caulder sighed then began to speak " When the attack happened and it was clear that we could not win Edmund sent Athena to the elves with baby Fletcher to keep him safe." Sir Caulder paused for a second seeing the kings expression of confusion before continuing his story. " The orcs came through the secret passage so he knew that someone had betrayed them and then decided that Fletcher would be safest with the elves. I know that this story might sound preposterous but if you don't believe me then send a mite to the elves and see for yourself." The king nodded and said

" Very well then. That's exactly what I'll do. With that, he walked off to his room before writing a quick note and attaching it to a Mite.

4 days later

King Harold sat by Sir Caulder's bedside when the mite returned with a note along with an eagle. It said

" Yes, we have him."
