The Internet Is Not Your Playground

Introduction

This book is an analysis and guide to the ever-growing internet of the 21st century, its goal is to educate and inform its readers about how the internet works, why and how the internet was formed, and privacy on the internet. These are topics that I have been very passionate about for the past 5 years, and in that time I have gained quite a bit of knowledge about how the internet works, and let me tell you there are a lot of misunderstandings and partial truth about the internet and how it works. Those partial truths, misunderstandings, and even sometimes straight-up lies are what inspired me to make this book. This book will also be structured as an archival book meant to document what the internet was like at this point, and throughout the book's development.

As of 2019, the internet is still fairly new and has only been a big thing for just over 22 years, it's old enough that younger people take it for granted, and new enough that older people don't understand it at all. The internet has changed so many things about how the world works in the last 25 years that it's almost unrecognizable when compared to the late 1980s and early 1990s. This is why I deemed it necessary to create this book.
