Lilly finally meets her father Gareth Southgate and her whole life changes. What will happen as she goes along to the World Cup and meets a certain boy?
"come on guys lets go clap the fans" Steve said "oh Lils stop crying you'll make your Dad cry" he chuckled stroking my head
"I don't know why I'm crying, I'm not even one of the players" I sighed
"everyone's crying, it's because we actually believed we could do it" he explained
"I'm sorry we couldn't" Raheem apologised
"don't apologise" I told him "it's not your fault"
"I didn't even score once, I was shit" he frowned
"stop it!" I exclaimed "you should be so proud Raz, we got to the semi-final for god's sake"
"and now you've stopped crying, thank me later" he winked before running off to clap the fans
"hey you played so well" I told Marcus as I crouched down next to him
"we still failed" he replied bluntly
"you really call this a failure?" I asked him pointing at all the fans singing England chants
"we didn't bring it home" he said
"but have you seen what you guys have created back home? people love England again, be proud of that because no one can take that away from you guys" I smiled
"wow I didn't know you were an inspirational speaker" he chuckled
"neither did I" I laughed "come on" I said grabbing his hands and pulling him up
"what are we doing?" he asked
"we're gonna go find a kid I spoke to, you're his idol and we're gonna give him your shirt, unless you wanna keep it for memories" I told him
"no the kid will appreciate it more than me" he said "where were they?"
"Olly's right there, wave at him" I said pointing to a family in the stands
"Marcus!" Olly screamed
"I'm sorry we couldn't win it for you guys" Marcus apologised as he got closer to them
"that's okay you made us proud" Olly's dad said
"here's my shirt, do you have a pen so I can sign it?" Marcus asked
"I've got one" I said passing it to him
"thank you so much for making this happen" Olly's dad said to me
"don't worry about it, I remember having idols when I was a kid too" I smiled
"thank you thank you thank you!" Olly exclaimed
"no worries little man, hopefully I'll see you at another match soon" Marcus told him before we walked away
"Lilly!" I heard someone shout
"unlucky Dad" I said sympathetically giving him a hug
"we'll go again" he sighed
"I know you will, you've done amazing" I reassured him
"so have you, you've really helped the spirit within the team and Mia's done amazing connecting the fans and the team. I'm so proud of you both" he said with tears in his eyes
"we're so proud of you too" I sobbed
"great now you've set me off" he chuckled wiping away his tears
"I'm so glad I decided to find you" I said hugging him again
"I'm glad too, there was a part of me missing that was filled when you came along" he smiled

lillysouthgate98 A letter to my Dad: Dad, a couple months ago I didn't even know you let alone love you as much as I do now. Before we met I had just lost my Grandad, the only family member I ever had and I was completely broken. But when I finally got the courage to contact you, you completely changed my life for the better and I cannot thank you enough. You and the team have put me through every emotion possible throughout this amazing World Cup journey and I'm so glad you let me come along for the ride. I'm so so proud of you and what you have created with this England team, and I think we all know that this is only the beginning or something incredible. I know you don't think you deserve all the praise you're getting, but you do, you deserve every congratulations and every well done in the world and I'm so happy people realise that. lillysouthgate98 A letter to the team: Boys, I already know you're gonna call me soppy and a melt for this post but you need to know how I feel. I chose this picture because this was the moment I knew you guys were different, not because you're an England team who actually won on penalties but because of your reactions, because of your emotion. I want to thank you as a fan for the sacrifices I know you made to be the best you can be. I wish I could write something about each one of you individually but I'll run out of time. So instead I'm going to write to you as a family, because that's what we are now. I never experienced what it's like to have a big family until now and now I understand why people think they're so amazing. So once again I want to thank you, not as one of your fans, but as one of your sisters. You might think you've failed but everyone knows you've done quite the opposite and we're all so proud.
