By the time we made it back to my apartment, we were both busting at the seams with laughter, hiccups raking our bodies. I popped two packs of ramen in two coffee mugs with water and put it in the microwave, while Adrien got comfortable on the couch.

I ran Snickers outside to pee before finally making my way back inside and taking out our ramen. Steam curled off of the cups, I took the two flavor packets and dumped them into the bowl, giving them a good stir.

Finally, after preparing our jailhouse-style dinner, I presented it to the blonde before vegging out on the sofa next to him. We ate in silence for a few beats before surprise crossed Adrien's face.

"This is amazing!"

He slurped his noodles rather unceremoniously, I laughed covering my mouth as a bit of drool dipped over my lip.

"It's basic microwave ramen, but I'm glad you like it."

I took a bite of my own before continuing.

"So why were you all sweaty and red when you got here?"

He paused, chuckling awkwardly then mumbling his answer.

"Oh, I kinda snuck out."

My eyes must have widened to the size of saucers because he held up a hand in defense.

"I wanted to hang out with you and father would never let me go to a friend's house let alone go to a costume store!"

I felt a pang of guilt through my chest at his admission, I never thought about what it would be like to not have the freedom I do. I sighed, setting my mug down on the coffee table, conveniently out of reach of Snicker's snout.

"Sorry, I've just always had that freedom- well I've never had someone worry about me like that."

He scanned my face as he sank back further into the couch.

"It wasn't ever like this until my mother died. I think he's scared of losing me, but he's hurting me more than people in the world would you know."

"I bet she was an amazing woman, it might take time for him to realize but it sounds like he loves you."

He nodded with a weak smile, eyes trailing to the ceiling.

"What about your parents, I barely know anything about your family?"

"I was put into the foster care system once I was born. I never knew my parents."

I looked back down to my ramen and twirled some noodles around my fork. The silence grew stale, but I felt Adrien scoot closer to me on the couch. His hands cupped mine around the cup.

"Thank you for trusting me enough to tell me. I'm sorry you went through this."

I smiled at him softly.

"You're a good guy Adrien."

"I'll see you tomorrow then?"

I asked as I slowly opened my door to let the blonde sneak back home.

"Definitely, thanks for having me. We should do this again."

"I'm down but maybe attempt to ask your dad next time."

I giggled, but he nodded curtly. He pulled me into a quick hug, by the time I blinked and registered it happened he was waving to me down the street.

The next morning was spent, making breakfast while singing and dancing with Snickers around the kitchen. Waffles were the food of choice today and AJR was the band. If Snickers could give judging looks I'm sure he would have passed me a few. This demeanor diminished when I took him for an extra-long walk to the Place des Vosges. After doing a bit of homework there, interchanged with throwing a frisbee for the never-ending energy the puppy produced, we both made our way home and I hopped in the shower.

My costume was laid out on my bed from earlier this morning. It consisted of a black tutu skirt with biker shorts underneath, a black tank top, black gloves, and socks, and a cat tail and ears.
I was just slipping on my black and green shoes when I heard a knock on my window. My head perked up from where I was slumped over tying the green laces. I looked over nervously, turning down the Spotify playing on my phone.

'Intruder?'

I grabbed my skateboard and raised it above my head. Mentally preparing myself to whack someone in the head if need be, I pulled open the window with one arm. I found Chat Noir peering in through the frame of the window, his eyes lit up when he saw me. I put the skateboard down and put my hand over my heart.

"You nearly gave me a heart attack, you perverted stray."

I motioned for him to climb inside and he nodded with a wide grin.

"You wound me, Princess, Chat Noir is no pervert!"

I rolled my eyes with a smirk. He leaned against the window nonchalantly, giving me a once-over.

"A little birdy told me you were dressing up as me for the Halloween Bash. The costume suits you."

He gave me a wink, I felt a slight blush rise to my cheeks. I turned away to tie the tiny bell on a black ribbon Adrien had helped me make the night before.

"Thanks, who told you anyway?"

He rubbed the back of his neck, chuckling while he pushed off the frame over to me.

"I happen to be very good friends with Adrien Agreste."

I raised an eyebrow at him.

"You know Adrien?"

"Ya, we catch up from time to time you know."

He mocked me by fixing his hair in the mirror next to me, I shoved him lightly, still struggling to tie the stupid bell around my neck.

"He said a while ago he thought you didn't like him? What's that about because Adrien and I are homies so that's gonna make our friendship a little awkward princess."

I frowned into the reflection of the mirror, scrunching my brows as I tied a loop for a bow with the ribbon.

"It's not that I didn't like him, one of my friends is crushing on him hard. I just don't want to get between that, you know?"

I felt cold claws wrap around my hands from behind, taking the ribbon from me and delicately tying the bow tight to the skin of my neck. His claws brushing against me sent bolts of electricity down my spine. I gazed at our reflections in the mirror, the hero was deep in thought while he focused on the task. There was a few minutes of silence till he finished, stepping back.

"You're a great friend princess."

I turned to him, facing his burning gaze head-on. I gave him a smile.

"Thanks. Do you want to take a selfie while I'm still in my costume?"

His eyes sparkled and he unclipped his baton from his belt.

"Of course Princess!"

He pulled me in next to him in front of the window, I made my usual peace sign with a smile. He smirked and snapped the picture.

"I have to send this to Ladybug. She'll love it!"

"I'm sure."

I glanced at the time on my nightstand clock.

"I better go, I have to get to Marinette's house to meet with my friends. I'll see you Chaton."

A froze, one leg out the window, blush creeping up from under his mask.

"Chaton... that's a new one."

He chuckled to himself softly.

"I'll see you, Princess."

With that, he was out the window, and I was left in a once again empty room. I smiled to myself.

'What a strange cat.'
