"Yep, see ya."

I hung up the phone and glanced at the time. It was five and no sign of Adrien, which was not a good sign. I was just about ready to call the girls back and tell them that he didn't show up when I heard a polite knock on the door.

I slid across the hardwood up to the door, grabbed a hold of Snickers collar in the process, and unlocked it. Adrien stood in the doorway with a flushed face and slightly labored breathing to match. He wore his signature black shirt, with an open white button-up and jeans.

I gave him an unsure smile. He stared back slightly dazed as his face flushed a deeper shade of red.

"You ok? You look like you just ran a marathon."

"I- um ya I ran here."

His eyebrows furrowed as his eyes raked over me, and he let out a breathy sigh.

"Wow, you look great."

My eyes widened, and I let go of Snicker's collar just long enough for him to launch himself at Adrien, who bent down and accepted the husky with open arms. Snickers had grown throughout the last month, so he was just big enough to lick the tip of Adrien's chin.

I giggled nervously, brushing the invisible lint off the front of my black overall dress.

"Thanks, it's just something I threw together."

Snickers at this point had turned into a pile of goop on the floor, at the complete mercy of Adrien's belly rubs.

"Who's this fella?"

"Snickers, got him a month back. He keeps me company at home."

After standing back up, he motioned to the door.

"You want to head to the costume store?"

I nodded with a giddy grin and started putting my shoes on. As I was slipping my other boot on I felt myself begin tipping from lack of balance. I stumbled on one leg for a second before Adrien stabilized me with a hand on my forearm. He chuckled.

"Clumsy, are we?"

I giggled nervously, slipping my bag across my shoulder.

"Let's get going."

"So what superhero did you decide on?"

I asked offhandedly as we walked further into the main part of the city. The sun was just peaking over the tall buildings, it was starting to set earlier now that fall was in full swing. All of the people going to the Halloween bash wanted to dress up in a group costume, and we toyed with a few ideas until Alya suggested Paris's Superheroes. Needless to say, we all fell in love with the idea and each of us laid our claim to a particular one.

"I choose Bunnyx, I think her costume is cool you know."

He commented looking up at the sky as if he would see said superhero gliding through Paris. I raised an eyebrow inquisitively at his answer.

"Really? Always pegged you as a Chat Noir guy?"

He looked at me shocked, shaking his head very quickly.

"Seriously? No way, he's a huge flirt, and I don't have his pun skills."

I laughed at his rambling, looking forward, waiting for a stop light to turn so we could cross the street.

"I think so, you both are charmers, and I'd say you're just as funny."

The light turned and I walked forward. It took him a second to catch up from where he was paused on the street.
