A story provoke to be told from a comment about his vest.
When Mac was still a kid living in British  Columbia his father took him to their cabin just off of pigeon lake, it was very nice because his grandfather was well off (good money) and was a lawyer, so they went down to the lake to fish and out of all the things he could have caught it was clams. His father found that odd but they put the clams in the fridge for later. The next summer Mac was very excited to go back and eat the clams he had caught the year before but his dad threw them out hollering at him  saying 'what the hell is wrong with you boy you can't eat these!', leaving Mac devastated. That was the first and last time he'd been fishing.
