Your heart used to beat with mine,

Making rhythm, keeping time.

When you smiled the world was good,

Everything felt just like it should.

Your jolly laugh would make me smile,

As we sat and talked a while.

The lines on your face, hairs on your head,

Told a story to be read.

When I was one and two and three,

You'd sit me up upon your knee.

In your chair all day we'd sit,

Eating Cheez-it's bit by bit.

Growing up went by too fast,

And now I wish I could've made it last.

The memories we shared are quickly fading,

And I'm afraid that you are dating.

From dust to dust, ashes to ashes,

Teardrops cover my eyelashes.

The doctors tried but can to no more,

For the tumor that has no cure.

As you go up and I stay here,

Watching you I'm full of fear.

But the teardrops start to fade away,

And I know we'll meet again, another time, another day.

Through this pain, all in all,

I'll always be your Babydoll.
