"Please don't tell her"

Y/N's POV

Its the next day and i decided i was going to take river to lunch so we can talk about me leaving cause he seemed really upset yesterday.

"hey River you wanna go get lunch with me" i asked him sitting next to him on the couch

"uh ya let me just go grab a jacket" he said putting his phone in his pocket and heading upstairs to his room

The whole way to the restaurant, River didn't talk much he just nodded his head.

We got to the restaurant and we got seated.

"why have you been so quiet lately?" I asked him

"i don't know I've just been tired i guess" he said looking up from his menu

"you've been tired since last night at dinner?"

"ok fine, i just don't want you to leave. is that what you wanted to hear?" he said putting his menu down and playing with his fingers

"you are the one that talked me into telling mom and dad"

"ya i know but after you actually told them i don't know i just felt sad" he said holding back tears

"Im so sorry River i don't have to go-" He cut me off

"no you have to go" he said finally looking at me

"but you want me to stay" I say confused

"i do but yesterday i heard you talking to someone so i went to peak in your room and saw you on face time with Lauren and i saw how happy you were talking to her, and if you go you will be closer to her and what i want is for you to be happy" he said with a little smile

"aw River are you sure?"

"ya I'm sure" he said with a reassuring smile

I got up and hugged River i didn't care that we were at a restaurant.

"when we get home want me to help you with you boxes?" he said after we both ordered our food

"If you don't mind. I don't have many boxes but i just need them in the back of my truck"

"ya no problem"

We got our food and we both ate and i payed for the food before we left.

"so have you told any of the girls or even Lauren you are going up to Malibu" River asked as he pugged the AUX cord into his phone

"uh no i haven't actually, i was going to text Lisa today when we get home but i want it to be a surprise Lauren"

"she'll like that" River says smiling at me

"you thing so?" i say raising an eyebrow

"of course she will, she likes you so obviously she will be happy to see you"

"hopefully"

We get home and i go up to my room and text Lisa

Me: Hey Lisa i need to tell you something

Lisa🤪: What is it?

Me: So I'm leaving for collage tomorrow

Lisa🤪: Thats awesome Y/N!!

Lisa🤪: Wait what is Lauren going to think, how far will you be

Me: Thats the thing, Im going to collage in Malibu. Ever since i was little I've wanted to go to collage there so i all be even closer to Lauren.

Lisa🤪: OMG!!!

Me: please don't tell her though, you can tell the rest of your sisters if you want just please don't tell Lauren ok

Lisa🤪: I'll tell everyone that they just can't tell Lauren but why?

Me: Because i want to surprise her

Lisa🤪: Aw thats so cute!!

Lisa🤪: ok im gonna tell my sisters just not Lauren😉

Me: ok thank you Lisa. Also can you help me unpack my stuff tomorrow?😬

Lisa🤪: OMG YOU ARE GOING TO BE HERE TOMORROW??!!!

Me: yes now can you do it?

Lisa🤪: of course i will, just text me tomorrow morning

Me: ok thank you Lisa

After i text Lisa i told River i was ready to get all the boxes into the back of my truck. We went outside and packed all the boxes in the back.

The rest of the day River and I hung out and played video gams together and went swimming. I was trying to spend as much time with him as possible before i lave tomorrow.

As i played down to go to bed i heard my phone ring. i turn over and see Lauren is calling me so i answer it

"hey Laur"

"hey Y/N did i wake you up?"

"no you didn't, i just laid down"

"oh I'm sorr-"

"don't apologize it's ok" i said with a little laugh "so why did you call?"

"i just wanted to talk with you, i didn't have anything specific to talk about" we both laughed

"hm??"

"LAUREN I COME HERE PLEASE" i heard a faint yell in the back i think from Dani

"well i guess you could say hi to Dani for me then" i said letting out a little laugh

"ok well i better go, bye Y/N/N"

"bye laur"

Lauren ended the call and since i was about to go to bed i just decided to send her a goodnight text since i didn't exactly say goodnight before she ended the call

Me: Hey i meant to say goodnight to you over the phone but you had to go so I'm saying it right now. If i don't respond thats because i fell asleep but i will text you in the morning. Night Laur❤️.

I sent the message and realized 'did i really just out a heart'. I thought about how crazy it is that I'm leaving tomorrow. With the thought of seeing Lauren tomorrow, i fell asleep
