How he is when you're in labour

"I'm sorry, Mr Hemmings, babies come when they're ready, and since your wife isn't overdue and neither her or the baby are at risk, we have to just let her come when she's ready." She sighed, making Luke return it. My eyes widened slightly as I held my bump.

"You okay, babe?" Luke asked.

"Um, yeah, just a new pain, like I have to go to the bathroom, but painful." I gulped.

"Don't worry, that's a good sign, that means that baby Hemmings is ready to be born." The nurse smiled. Luke returned it as he looked at me.

"You ready to have your baby, Mrs Hemmings?" the nurse asked.

"I think so." I gulped and nodded as Luke rushed to me and took my hand.

"You can do this, baby. It's going to be okay. Our little girl will be here soon." Luke smiled before kissing my head and grasping my hand as I started to push.

Michael

"Where the fuck is Michael?" I spat at my best friend as I lay in the hospital bed.

"He said he was going to the bathroom." She shrugged.

"That was half a fucking hour ago, the baby will come before he comes back at this rate." I groaned. As if on cue, Michael walked in, his arms full of food.

"I'm back, babe." He smiled. My eyes widened.

"You asshole!" I shouted. His eyes widened slightly and he looked at my best friend.

"What did I do?" he mumbled.

"You agreed that since I couldn't eat during labour, you wouldn't eat either, you're my husband who got me fucking pregnant, you're meant to support me!" I yelled.

"Oh, shit, babe, sorry, I genuinely forgot that I agreed to that." He smiled sheepishly, making me groan.

"Okay, okay, I have the receipt, I'll take it all back, I'll be the supportive husband that I said I'd be." He chuckled.

"No, I'll do it, I think you better stay and rub her feet or some shit." My best friend mumbled as she took the food and left. Michael sighed as he came and sat next to me on the bed.

"How you feeling?" he asked, resting a hand on my bump.

"Not good. Your son is resting on my bladder, so I really need to pee, but I don't want to give birth to him in the bathroom." I sighed.

"Can that even happen?" he laughed.

"I don't know." I choked. Michael's smile dipped.

"Hey, hey, it's okay, what's wrong?" he chuckled, cupping my face.

"I'm just in so much pain and it's been fourteen hours, and he's still not here, and I feel so crappy and I want him to come already." I cried.

"I know, baby, but he'll be here soon, and he'll be an amazing baby, and he'll be worth the wait." He chuckled. I looked at him.

"Don't leave me." I mumbled.

"Why would I leave you, silly?" he smiled.

"I don't know. But I want you by my side, I want you right here for the birth of our son." I huffed, making him chuckle.

"Don't worry, baby girl. I'm not going anywhere." He promised before leaning forward and kissing my head.

Ashton

"I miss your bandannas." I huffed as I lay on my side, looking at Ashton. He chuckled at me.

"I haven't worn them in nearly ten years, baby girl." He smiled, gently stroking my cheek.

"No, but I still miss them. You only ever use them now to tie me up when we're having sex-."

"Babe, remember that we're not alone." He laughed, nodding towards my sister who was sat on the opposite side of the room.

"Well, thanks, Ashton, because you didn't stop her from having all that gas and air, I now know way too much about your sex lives." She spoke.

"She was in pain, what was I meant to do? Stop my wife, who's about to give birth, from having pain relief?" he chuckled before looking at me.

"You really can't feel anything, can you?" he smiled. I giggled and shook my head.

"I think your son is kicking me, but I don't know." I smiled.

"Maybe I should try some of this gas and air." He joked, reaching for the tube.

"I won't give birth to our son if you touch that tube." I threatened, making Ashton laugh.

"Babe, I think he controls when you give birth to him, not you." He smiled and bit his lip as he stroked my cheek.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I huffed.

"You're just very funny when you're pregnant and high." He teased.

"Well, you're funny when-." I hissed and held my bump as I felt a pain.

"Babe?" Ashton gulped as a nurse walked in.

"Ow, I felt that, I shouldn't have been able to feel that." I gulped, looking worriedly at Ashton. He looked at the nurse.

"She's so high right now that she can't even feel our son kick, but she just had a pain, is that normal?" he gulped.

"What did it feel like?" the nurse asked.

"Like I need to pee, but painful." I nodded.

"Don't worry, Mr Irwin, that's your son telling your wife that he's ready. It's time to push." She smiled. Ashton returned it and looked at me.

"You hear that, baby? Our little boy is ready to be born." He smiled, gently stroking my hair.

"And I'm ready to have him." I returned. He chuckled and kissed my head before taking my hand.
