"Excuse me! Out of the way! Coming through!"

Her shoulders ached over the shoulders she had to bump as she cleared her path to the entrance of court unharmed with the cost of now messed up hair. She huffed as she cured the swarm of reporters she faced on her way, all having the same purpose of interviewing the man they waited hours for.

"Julie, Over here!" She heard a voice calling her over, and she sighed in relief when she saw a familiar face.

Rose." She acknowledged her best friend as she went over and stood beside her. Joining her as they waited.

"Is he out?" Julie asked anxiously as she looked around.

"Not yet; the hearing isn't finished yet." Her friend answered, fishing out a mirror out of her pocket and handing it to her with an expression that said, Fix your mess.

Mouthing a quick thank you, she grasped the mirror in her pale palm and flipped it open. She proceeded to brush her fingers through her hair, catching all disorganized locks and putting them back in their place before she took a whole view of her face, reviewing her onix, which were complimented with a sharp rim of dark wing, and her peach-colored cheeks. She suddenly noticed the tint of her lips was fading, and she immediately put on another layer of lipstick after wiping the remaining layer.

While doing her task, she watched her friend, who was on the clock, growing empathic about her state.

Because unlike Julie, who readied herself for the man she waited for what felt like an eternity to meet, her friend, on the other hand, had no time for such preparation, as all that mattered to her was to get the perfect shots for her boss to publish.

So she watched as her friend fumbled with her camera, redoing the settings and cursing whoever played with them. Her hair a mess, her face bare of makeup, her eyebags of sleepless nights on display, she yawned nonstop.

"Thank you again, Rose. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't get access here," Julie said with a pout as she hugged her friend tightly.

"Yeah yeah. Whatever, just don't make a fool out of yourself when you see the love of your life," Rose commented, finally finishing her preparations as she turned fully to her friend with a knowing expression.

"H-hey! It's not like that! I don't like him; I just admire him!" She defended herself, feeling flustered. "He's just someone I inspire to be, that's it!" She continued, not managing to convince her friend, who carried a smirk.

"Uh-huh, keep telling yourself that." She rolled her eyes at her embarrassed friend, chuckling to herself while keeping her eyes on the doors of the hearing room, as the whole reason her friend scored a place in the business management program was behind these doors.

Julie sighed as she tapped her cheeks, hoping for the blood that rushed to them to return to their place. She can't seem to convince her no matter how hard she tries, maybe because it's the truth and she's just trying to convince herself.
