Knuckles x Pregnant!reader

"Darn it! I almost had the girl," Eggman said, bringing his hover craft into view.

"Leave her alone, Eggman," Shadow snapped, glaring at Eggman.

"Shadow? What are you doing here? And why are you protecting Y/n?"

"That's none of your business, you fool."

By now, the others had ran out of the house to see what was going on. Shadow's motioned me to run towards them. I started to run to the others, when I heard a whistling sound. I was picked up suddenly before the person holding me came to a stop. Sonic was holding me in his arms before placing me on my feet. I looked over and saw a net on the ground. Shadow ran over and stood in front of Sonic.

"Look, Sonic, we may have our differences, but we need to make sure Eggman doesn't capture Y/n," Shadow said. 

"Why do you care, Shadow," Sonic asked.

"I'll explain why later. Please just work together," I replied.

Sonic looked at me for a moment before nodding. Sonic ran out and distracted Eggman, the others following after him. Shadow kept Knuckles beside me, glaring at him.

"You stay here and protect Y/n. We don't need her to miscarry," Shadow said.

He ran away and my jaw dropped. He just subtly told Knuckles that I was pregnant. I closed my mouth and looked at Knuckles. Knuckles was thinking about Shadow's words before the realization sunk in. Knuckles looked at me and I looked back at him nervously. He walked over to me and quickly took me to cover. Once we were a safe distance from the others, Knuckles looked at me.

"Are you...are you pregnant," Knuckles asked.

"...Yes. I was going to tell you, but I was scared. Shadow found out on accident," I said.

"How far along are you?"

"Five weeks. I already have a bump."

I watched Knuckles smile grow wide and he gently hugged me, being cautious of my stomach. I nuzzled my head into his chest, feeling safe in his embrace. He pulled back and glanced down at my stomach. 

"We're going to be parents," Knuckles mumbled. 

He reached down and gently rubbed my stomach. I gently lifted my shirt and showed him the bump. His hands hovered above it, almost as if he was afraid he would cause me harm. I grabbed one of his hands and placed it on the bump. Knuckles smiled and looked up at me. Suddenly, he pulled his hands away from me and wrapped his arms around me protectively. I heard something stop beside me, causing me to look. A robotic claw was next me, ready to grab me; however, it wasn't moving. It hovered for a moment before retracting. I watched it go back into Eggman's hover craft. Eggman had a guilty look on his face.

"I'm so sorry, I had no idea you were...expecting," he said, his face becoming flustered.

Everyone stopped and looked at him confused. I carefully turned in Knuckles' arms, facing Eggman. He let me turn, but refused to let me go.

"It's all right, Eggman. I didn't expect you to know," I said.

"Well, um...until the baby is born, I won't attack you," Eggman said.

"Thank you."

"You're, um, you're welcome. Again, my apologies."

I nodded in response. He sat there flustered for a moment before leaving. After he left, the others ran over wanting answers. After Shadow and I explained everything, the others quickly started making plans for the new arrival.
