SAVE ME/ YOONKOOK

"it's time to face the facts," the doctor says with a grim expression, looking down at the younger man that has his whole life in front of him. "i'm sure you know what i'm about to say, that's why you've been seeing me again."

yoongi shifts in his seat, looking down at his fingers. he knows what the doctor's gonna say, too. so did jin hyung, back at the dorm. that's why he sent him here in the first place.

"i'm really sorry, yoongi. i hate to say it again, but it has to be said... i am diagnosing you with major depression."

and yoongi's mind went wild as he fell to the ground.

he wakes up blinking at a bright light, looking around to see a hospital room. he was laying down so he couldn't see if anyone was there, but he didn't stay confused for long as jin hyung ran to his side, grabbing at his face.

"yoongi! god, just please take better care of yourself!" he exclaims, tears evident on his face. their group all cares for each other the same, but jin and yoongi had a different bond, with yoongi being his regular destructive self and jin being the eldest, who cared for everyone.

yoongi nods, embarrassed. "it wasn't that, i'm fine, it was just shock."

"shock? from what?"

yoongi turns his face away, gathering his thoughts before responding quietly. "you were right."

and that made jin's need to care for yoongi even stronger.

it had been a couple weeks since the diagnosis. yoongi hadn't told anybody else, including the members, but they weren't stupid. they recognized his symptoms from before— it didn't need to be said.

he began sleeping early or not at all. eating with everybody or not at all. existing with others, or barely.

he ended up moving back in with jin in his room, all of them knowing it was for the best. the elder gave him gentle reminders to shower and change and even brush his teeth.

you see, jin was the only member that knew yoongi really just was a broken little boy. the tough act was just that— an act. jin brushes his hair, helps him wash off his makeup at night, even rocks him to sleep at night. yoongi appreciates it more than he could express.

that night, yoongi was a little extra down, and he got home from the studio and straight into jin's arms. the elder shushed him, running his fingers through his hair, hugging him close to his chest as he pulls him into their room, sighing as the younger began sobbing into his chest, gripping his shirt so tightly.

"sh, yoongi, shh..." he sits on the bed, the younger climbing into his lap.

"j jinnie..." yoongi cries, jin's heart breaking even more. "sad, hurts jinnie.."

"i know, love," jin whispers. "let's get you into some pajamas, and get you to bed."

"b baba," he cries, looking up at the elder. "baba, p please.."

"of course, baby," jin whispers, lifting him up before laying him on the bed, quickly getting out soft pajama pants and a large t-shirt, dressing the crying boy quickly.

he takes out a pacifier from his drawer, putting it in the boy's mouth, who sucked on it quickly, visibly calming down but still making grabby hands for the elder.

jin had to run to the kitchen with a bottle in hand, preparing it quickly to make sure none of the other members saw, and ran back to see the boy who was even more agitated— but he didn't have a choice.

his turned off the light and pulled the other into his lap, rocking him as he trades the pacifier for the nipple of the bottle. the night light shines blue, making yoongi's face glow— as well as his tears.

jin rocks him slowly as he sucks on the bottle, his eyes drooping before he slowly falls asleep in his arms, pacifier back in his mouth and wrapped in a blanket.

"oh, baby..." jin sighs, tucking him into bed.

yes, min yoongi was a little. it might seem weird to others, but to jin, he saw a broken, traumatized little boy in need of love, and he was more than willing to give it.
