Today I arrived early to meet Nathaniel so we could hang out before class started. The room was completely empty when I opened the door and flicked on the lights. I made my way up to my desk and sat down. Pulling my history book out of my bag, I stuffed my skateboard and bag under my desk. I was enjoying the peace until Chloe and her minion strutted into the room, eyes scanning menacingly across the room until they landed on me. The blonde stomped up the stairs to my desk, Sabrina clawing at her heels behind her with a crooked little smirk.

She planted herself directly in front of my desk, arms crossed, apparently waiting for me to take my earbuds out. I gave her a once over and took a single air pod out, one eyebrow raised.

"Can I help you?"

"I don't understand why Adrien has taken such a liking to you, but you better cut whatever's going on off quickly. Adrikens is mine, he doesn't belong around a loser like you!"

She whined, slamming her hand on my desk so that she was leaning over in my face.

"Got it!?"

"Hey y/n come lo-"

I alternated looking from her to the door where Nathaniel stood clutching his bag. His smile fell as his eyes landed on the two demons leaning over me.

Chloe snapped her neck back to send him an icy glare from her position. I took the opening to get away and beelined past the two, basically running down the stairs. I skipped the last step and jumped down Nathaniel cushioning my landing.

"Hey Nat what is it?"

I asked as I grabbed his arm and dragged him out of the room, not looking back.

The day went by fairly quickly and all I wanted to do was go home so I could get a head start on my Chemistry homework. We all sat in the courtyard at a table chatting about the day. I gazed across the table at Alya as she launched into a rant about her recent blog post, only half listening.

"Hey y/n I really like your skirt."

Marinette commented offering a soft smile. Alya nodded in agreement, not skipping a beat in her discussion with Nino.

"Aww thanks, it's just something I put together."

It's a total lie. I always put time into my outfits to make sure I look presentable, something ingrained in me by Poppy.

"Ya, you look great in it."

Adrien locked eyes with me, resting his cheek on one of his hands across the table. A blush bloomed across my face, I gave him a small smile before turning back to Alya trying to ignore the conversation. Nathaniel walked over to our table just as I was standing up to leave.

"You want to go grab our stuff from the room?"

I nodded and stood up.

"I'll see you guys!"

The group gave a chorus of 'goodbyes' while I walked with Nathaniel to the classroom. After making it up the stairs to the door, I ran up to my desk through the empty room, to my bag. I grabbed it from under my desk and slung it over my shoulders pulling out my air-pods from the side pocket.

I kneeled underneath my desk and pulled out my skateboard. I turned over my board and the blood rushed to my head, I could feel my heart beating in my throat as I ran my hand over it. The once light blue board had the words 'loser' spray painted over it in grainy red letters over the original design. I felt the stinging feeling of my eyes watering.

Caleb gave it to me for my birthday four years ago, we spent the rest of the night practicing ollies in the road outside his house. He painted it himself, and the symbol later became our band's secret logo.

I frowned and picked it up, standing, before checking if the culprits broke it.

"I guess I'll see you later then?"

Nathanial asked, turning to face me. He stopped to look at what I was holding, eyes widening rapidly. In a flash, he was angry, hot seething anger. The most upset I'd ever seen him, he grabbed my wrist.

My face must have given away that he was making me nervous because he steeled himself into a barely concealed simmer of rage.

"This was Chloe and Sabrina- god I knew those two were up to no good. Come on, let's go to the principal."

I pulled him back so that he was facing me.

"Nathaniel"

I kept my voice calm and neutral.

"We have no proof- it's ok. I'm sure I can fix it."

He looked at me agitated, scrunching his nose up in disgust.

"Y/n I know that board is special to you. You can't let them get away with this!"

"It's ok, once we catch them in the act or find proof then we can talk to the principal."

I forced a smile and put my hand on his shoulder. He shrugged it away.

"Fine."

He walked out, still clearly livid with the situation.
