"Who actually posts an ad on Craigslist?" He was looking at a roommate application he found while looking at Craigslist ads that he's 96.9% sure was to lure victims to murder, which is all Craigslist is really good for afterall.
The man who posted the ad- foolishly introduced himself in the ad instead of simply exchanging that kind of information to applicants via email, Virgil read it outloud

Virgil hopes this guy isn't serious. First off, he obviously doesn't know what Adultery is. Second, how do you accidentally buy a house? Third, why Craigslist of all places?
This ad was stupid and careless.. he couldn't Not respond to it especially because they'll be going to the same university. After a few minutes of drafting his email he read it out loud to see if it was okay

Finally he sends the email
He gets up from his chair, ready for a wait but his laptop dings- he responded already? He reads out the email
"Hey Kiddo, sorry for responding so fast
I'm so glad you're interested! :) loud music isn't an issue but it would be appreciated to be a tad quieter at night if that's ok! Below are the rent details and the house blueprint!

Virgil looks at the linked attachment, he rent isn't too bad, he can afford it "oh why not?" He types a brief email back "Hey Patt, this looks great! Here's my number we can plan a date to move my stuff to the house, I'm almost all packed up anyway it shouldn't be too much work."
The moment Virgil hits send he instantly regrets it
"Oh shit- what did I just do, a stranger has my number
He's gonna come to my house- I'm gonna LIVE with him- WITH THREE OTHER PEOPLE?" he paces around his room and he hears a loud bang, and a shout from upstairs "Can you freak out a little quieter please?" He flops down on his couch and muffles a scream with a pillow, and in that moment his phone bings, and there's a text from an unknown number
