Author POV

It was just another day at work, a day that drained everyone out of energy and a nerve-wracking day. In other words, a shitty day.

The famous Quinx squad, the S2 squad and the Suzuya squad were all gathered in the meeting room to discuss the new case, the Nutcracker.

A certain Quinx wasn't paying attention at all. All he wanted to do was to hear the details of the operation, when he will be able to attack and get promoted faster so that he could be sent to the famous S3 squad (Promotion-kun, slow down).

"Well then... If I may, these are the main points" said Hanbee from the Suzuya squad, pointing to a white board. "The Nutcracker is a ghoul with unusual feeding habits. She mainly consumes men's testicles. In those instances, we suspect the Nutcracker is serving as a supplier of humans"

"Supplier of humans?" Asked Sasaki

"You can call it human trafficking" a [H/C] haired young woman answered, catching Urie's attention. "Assistant special investigator Washuu of counter measure II believes the Nutcracker is obtaining humans at the request of one of the madames. We have her physical descripiton and place of residence. We haven't detained her yet in order to uncover a larger evil" she continued

"(Wow...)" was the only thing that Urie could think of

[L/N] [Y/N] from the S2 squad. To be more exact, the deputy squad leader. You were Akira Mado's right hand and she didn't trust anyone in that squad more than she trusted you.

"Well pointed, [L/N]-san" Hanbee praised

"We have to infiltrate them even deeper so we can cut the roots of the problem faster" you added, taking some papers Hanbee handed you all. "So if we want to do this, I suggest the Quinx squad should go undercover to search and collect information about the Nutcracker, due to their amazing ghoul powers" you continued, looking like you were praising them all

"What do you say, Haise?" Akira asked, looking at Haise who started to sweat nervously

"W-well..." he muttered. "This is a good idea, I have to admit. We are Quinxes, it's not going to be hard for us, right guys?" Haise asked, turning his attention to his squad as they all agreed in sync

"Then, it's decided" Hanbee said

"Ughhh, [L/N]-chan is pure evil to make us do this" she whined

"Come on, guys" Mutsuki said, trying to lighten them up a bit. "[L/N]-san said so many nice things about us, so I think she trusts us"

"I agree" Sasaki spoke up. "It'll be an easy task for us, so don't worry guys"

"If you say so" Shirazu sighed. "Oi, Urie, what do you say about this mission?"

But Promotion-ku-- I mean, Urie wasn't paying attention to them. Your words from earlier were on repeat in his head as he walked like a zombie around, looking at the ground.
