"That." Her mom replied and Jolie smiled fondly

"Hey little lady," Jon greeted, picking her up and giving her a kiss on her head

"Grampa, grampa," Josie called, making grabby hands at the man in question and Jon walked over and sat on the couch, passing the child over before laying on the couch he'd spent much of his younger years on, all those family events he'd been invited to

"Tired son?" John Sr. asked his future son in law and Jon bristled, it had been so long since he heard that term of endearment from the oldest Cena

"We got in at an ungodly hour this morning," he replied and John Sr. nodded, understanding the demands of such a job

"I need to get down to the garage, I'll see you both later," John Sr. told them and kissed his wife's, daughter's and grand-daughter's heads before shaking Jon's hand and left

Jon was awake but was on the verge of dozing and Jolie couldn't help but smile at how domestic he looked, with her mom's dog, Toffee on his lap, Josie sitting by his knee and truthfully? Jolie needed to share this cuteness with the world

She smiled when Josie rested her head on Jon's ribs and proceeded to also fall asleep on top of him, then her smile widened when Jon rested his arm lightly over her and sighed in content

"Let 'em sleep sweetie, I'll make you some tea, c'mon," her mom said and she nodded and followed

"Jon looks good," her mom told her, putting some honey lemon tea, Jolie's favourite since she was younger

"We're engaged," Jolie told her and she nodded

"John-John told us as much," her mom replied and Jolie laughed

"You're still calling him that?" She asked and her mom chuckled. She had really cringey nicknames for her children

John was John-John
Dan was DannyBoy
Steve was StevieWeavie
Sean was Young Sean
Matt was MattyCakes

Jolie was the only one who had a normal nickname, her dad used to call her Jol, everyone else called her Jo

"That's one of my babies Jo," her mom said making them both laugh

"Are you happy?" She then asked after the laughter faded

Jolie smiled down at her teacup and looked almost bashful, she ran her finger around the brim and nodded before meeting her mother's eyes

"I'm so happy. Jon has really changed ma, he's no longer that kid that was scared of any kind of committment, he's not that irresponsible alcoholic anymore," she said with a frown

"He's a man who wants committment, I never thought Jon would ever ask me to marry him but he did, he doesn't drink himself into unconsciousness anymore, he's there for Josie, he always wants to be better for her, for me, for our family," Jolie said, rubbing her finger over her diamond ring that sat proudly on her finger

"I made a good choice ma, I can't wait to marry him," she said smiling as her mom took her hand

"You look so happy, I'm so proud of you, the both of you, you two are the best parents to Josalynn, she loves you two," her mom said and she smiled as she got up and saw Jon on his back now with Josie resting her head on his chest

"Thanks for your blessings ma, I'm glad dad approves to, I want you two as well as the hoodlums to be involved for my wedding," she said, referring to her 5 brothers as the 'hoodlums'

"I always knew, you know," her mom said and Jolie tilted her head

"Always knew what?" Jolie asked, puzzled and her mom smiled knowingly

"I always knew you and Jon would be together in the end, call it mother's intuition," she said and Jolie shook her head

"Josie-"

"Ain't got a thing to do with my grandbaby," her mom cut off and Jolie shut her mouth

"When you broke up and you went to stay in Tampa with your brother? That boy rung down the phone, always asking for you and about you, during the 3rd month, dad cancelled the landline, was too much expense,"

"He was scared Jo, but everyone with two eyes can see how much that boy loves you, how much he cares about you. That's the kind of love you never lose," her mom advised

Jolie looked at her briefly before looking to where her fiancé and their daughter were cuddled up on the couch, deep in sleep, Jon shifted, looking uncomfortable, he scratched his left hand's ring finger and then smiled when his nails met resistance on the silver band that Jolie had given him and his comfortable smile made Jolie smile and she turned back to see her mother was smiling to

"I won't." Jolie promised
