nous avons manqué notre chance. i loved you, and you loved me, but for some reason, when the time came to act, we sat back and watched the moment slip away in beautiful silence. how we let that happen is a hard question, but why we let it happen is a harder one. i think, like so many others, it was fear that did me in. avais tu peur, aussi?
mais, bien que si nous avons manqué notre chance, je n'ai aucun regret. if i did, i would die with a bitter taste in my mouth, and i've never been one for bitter things. j'espère que tu ne regrette rien non plus.
i would end this letter by saying, "maybe another time" or "in the far future" or "in another life", but i think we both know that this our story, decidedly. je pense que nous savons tous les deux que nous sommes une romance de chances manquées.
