You sighed "Maybe you're right... Hey... I don't get what Hank was talkin' about." You smiled at the android, gazing his chocolate irises. "You're a great listener, Robocop... And a good adviser too."
"I'm glad i helped."
"Maybe i should pay you to be my therapist, eh?" You chuckled, forgetting about those hurtful memories you revived already. Then something snapped in your mind. "Oh! I almost forgot..." Connor watched you looking for something in a drawer next to you. A familiar tie was in your hand. "Here's your tie. My arm is much better now... Thanks." You frowned as you notice that Connor was already wearing a different tie. "Oh... You got another one." You furrowed your eyes playfully at him. "Do you mind if i keep this?"
"Of course not." Connor said. "It's yours."
"Awesome." You said, then brushed your thumb on the plain fabric of the tie. "This will be a symbol for the day we met... Like, yesterday. Geez... You came to see me just to give me back my umbrella and now you're in my house... Sorry for taking your time."
"Don't worry." Connor stood up. "It was a nice chat."
"Oh, um... Did you see what happened at the Stratford Tower?" You questioned. That caught Connor's attention suddenly. "A group of androids infiltrated the TV tower this morning... Probably deviants. I don't have much information about it, so you and Uncle Hank should check it out."
Connor slowly nodded. "Thanks for letting me know... It's possible that the police will investigate that soon enough."
"Right." It was time for Connor to leave. You accompanied him to the door. "I'll follow your advice... I mean, i'll try."
"Good luck." Connor said. "Goodbye, Miss (L/N)... And thanks for the Thirium."
Nov 8th, 2038.
On the following day, you tempted yourself to talk to your godfather. Since there's no class for you today, you tried to work on the little courage Connor gave you last night. Maybe he really believes in your potential, or maybe he's just being a damn profiteer who just wants more help on the investigations. You don't know. You just met Connor a day ago, and it already feels like you know each other it's been ages... Well, at least for you. Perhaps the great amount of events that happened caused you that feeling. You think Connor's very adaptable, for a machine. Most of the androids you interacted didn't know how to deal with your sarcasm or blunt personal thoughts. So that was something new.
Alright, so... How i'm gonna say it? "Hi, Uncle Hank! Can i join the police again?"... That's a straight no... "Uncle Hank--" No! Screw that "Uncle Hank" shit... "Hank, i am an adult and i think you can mind your own life from now on. I'm going to be a cop again whether you like it or not!"... No, no, no! That's too rough... I don't wanna hurt his feelings.
"Fuck!" You growled while falling on the bed. "Why is this so difficult?"
You were pulled out of your frustration by a notification sound coming from your computer. Lazy, you walked over to it to see what it was: an e-mail from DUAT. That got you curious and kind of worried, thinking it would be something bad.
"Okay, let's see..." You murmured as you open the e-mail and read it. "Oh."
Kind of uncertain about what to do, you tried to call Hank but there was no answer of him. There goes your chance to talk to him, and even if you talked to him, what is going to happen after that? You're still afraid that he might get upset. And you can't disobey him, Hank taught you everything you know. And above all, you still think you should've pulled the trigger that night. You sighed to your thoughts, was it really worthy to go there again and bother him? There's only one way to find out.
