"Well, DUAT is an university 100% sponsored by Cyberlife... in every way." You explained. "I thought you already knew..."

"I don't know much about that university..." Connor said. " I know that DUAT was inaugurated 10 years after Cyberlife has established itself. It's a very broad place, connecting technology with arts and nature."

"Yeah, but in case you don't know Cyberlife only founded DUAT to stole more of people's money!" You stated. "They say 'Oh, Cyberlife just wants to create a cultural heritage for the future of the young people!'... Bullshit. Pure bullshit."

"You seem to despise Cyberlife very much, Miss (L/N)" Connor commented.

"Humph... Cyberlife is greedy, they only care about their profit." You said while putting the teacup on the sink. "And is not that i despise Cyberlife, they provide me a really good education, after all. But... i just think they could do more about the androids, you know? You're so smart, so skilled... People really are ungrateful for what they have."

"I understand your point of view..." Connor tried to be comprehensive. He followed you to the living room, sitting next to you on the leather sofa. He was interested about your opinion. "But if you think that Cyberlife is that greedy... why are you studying in an university founded by them?"

You sighed. "Uncle Hank... he wants me to find a better professional vocation, since..."

"Since?"

"Since... i'm no longer a cop."

"Can i ask you a personal question, Miss (L/N)?"

"Do all androids ask so many personal questions... or is it just you?" You furrowed your eyes. That's funny, you said that thoughtlessly. Hank said the exact same thing to Connor hours ago.

"What happened for you to get suspended from DPD? I asked Lieutenant about it, but he just said you did something bad... What happened?"

"Yeah, i did something... 'bad'." You started. "But before i tell you about that night... There's some things i need to clarify, so you can understand."

"Okay." Connor attentively nodded.

"When i was four... my dad bought an android to take care of me and the house while he was at work..."

That android... was different, somehow. She was so pretty, and affectionate. She'd always sing for me, play with me, always so gentle... We grew closer within four months after my dad bought her... I loved her.

I remember that day perfectly. She was holding me in her arms, while taking me to the kitchen to get me a snack. She was smiling, and i remember i said...

"I love you, mommy!"

... And she responded.

"I... I love you too, (Y/N)."

But my dad... he heard everything. And he got mad... really mad.

He started yelling at her, she tried to protect me. He called her names... Then he gabbed a crowbar in the cabinet... and started hitting her no stop. I was crying, begging him to stop...

"You're gonna get what you deserve, bitch... Claiming to be her mother... YOU'RE NOT HER! YOU! ARE! NOT! HER!"

"Daddy, stop!! Don't hit her!"

He broke her. And i was just standing there, watching... and crying my eyes out. Seconds later my dad realized what he had done, and he cried while holding me tightly, saying he was sorry.

"I had as little contact as possible with androids, after that day..." You explained.

"So it was a trauma..." Connor observed.
