Ivy Perkins is too patient and Luke Hemmings is an idiot
he's working here now, apparently, and he's not the brightest light in the fixture. I've heard Ivy show him how to work the cappuccino machine about twelve times just this past hour.
"You turn the lever, right here," she guides Luke's hand to the device and mimes turning. "When the machine squeals."
Something stirs in my stomach as I watch her touch him. I've got to admit, Luke Hemmings is smooth as all get out, acting downright retarded to get the cute barista to help him out. and I hate him for it.
Or maybe he's as dumb as they all say.
"Oh, okay. I got it this time." he says quietly, not making eye contact with Ivy.
"You sure?" she teases but I'm not sure he takes the hint, because he gets out a cup to practice with the machine.
She leaves him alone and walks over to the front counter. I remain watching Luke, laughing as he gets frothy milk on his forearm an he licks it off.
I didn't need to be intimated by Luke Hemmings, he is an idiot
