You woke up to the sound of soft whimpering. You shifted to the side to find an empty space were Isaac is supposed to be. You found him sitting on the floor next to the bed.
"Isaac? What's wrong?" You said softly. He sniffled and wiped his tears.
"Oh. Nothing, I'm sorry for waking you up." He smiled weakly.
You sat down next to him, wrapping your arm around. "Isaac, please talk to me. What's wrong?"
Tears slid down his cheeks.
"I couldn't save them. I couldn't save Erica. I couldn't save Boyd. They were my friends and I couldn't save them. "
He sobbed as you pulled him into your arms. He held on to you as if you would disappear if he let go.
"I'm scared I won't be able to save you." He whimpered. "I don't want to lose you."
