Taking Life Back (vkook ff)

This is by far one of my fav looks on Tae I rlly miss bst era!

Jungkook just watched in awe as Taehyung pulled out paper after paper forming stacks on the table. Each paper had been annotated and highlighted very neatly, and it was all making Jungkook beyond excited to hear from these findings.

"Hah, so this is all the research I've done, but before we dive in I'd like to hear from you."

Oh shit.
"... well..." Jungkook gulped.

"Haha what could I even have expected from you honestly Jungkook, but I'll be very serious when I say I'm trying to help you out as much as I can but you should put in efforts too. Then we'll be ready sooner." Taehyung calmly stated even though Jungkook had expected a totally different reaction, and it only made him feel guilty for being so careless. But he couldn't help it, he'd spend too much time trying to discover who Taehyung's sister was.
Of course it wasn't his business, but for reasons he couldn't quite explain he'd felt this need to protect Taehyung... most likely out of kindness.

In the midst of all this thought Jungkook stared at Taehyungs features with a dreamy gaze, one which Taehyung quickly noticed.

"Will you quit checking me out?!" His face was burning up and Jungkook immediately sat up.

"S-sorry I was thinking, you're very handsome you know, and plus I've caught you staring at me many times!"

"Haha what makes you think that! And yes I know my face is awesome,"

"Psssh I was only kidding you know, I'd barely call you average."

"Hah wow you can talk I'd say your face is just about 0.1/10 and that's coz I'm nice."

"...ouch."

Taehyung burst out into a fit of laughter upon seeing Jungkook's disappointed face.

"Don't take it personally im only messing with you," he said in between his laughter. "Anyway should I tell you what I discovered?!"

"Yes I suppose we should get on with it, you need to sleep soon too it's getting quite late." Jungkook states as a matter of factly.

Following many discussions and analysis of victim's cases, they came down to three main points:
> the murder always takes place around 11pm
> all cases have been males, in their twenties
> they all carried a briefcase

"Okay, so basically young men who are presumably office workers are killed at eleven in the evening-"

"Night, not evening, carry on." Taehyung interrupted.

"It's evening!"

"No it's night!"

"Evening!"

"Aargh you drive me insane!"

"Why did you correct me in the first place then!"

"Ugh I don't know,"

"Isn't it funny how we never have a normal conversation," Jungkook sighed.

Taehyung scoffed, "Yeah, of course we don't because any kind of conversation with a ghost will never be normal!!!"

"Okay okay forgive me I've sinned!" Jungkook knelt on the floor and hung his head in surrender. Taehyung's laughter faded into a genuine smile. He took Jungkook by surprise when he hugged him contently.

"Thank you so much Jungkook, when I'm with you it's like all my worries just disappear."

I was sure shocked but more than anything I was glad.
I'd witnessed myself how Taehyung was mistreated at work and though I'm still trying to figure things out myself one things for sure, Taehyung has such a pure and innocent soul he deserves the entire world's love, maybe even more, and right now I don't see anyone supporting him.
I wrapped my arms around his soft body and felt him lean in closer.

"Please, let's stay this way for a little while."

"Sure," I answered back, but i have to say it felt like I was there for eternity...

"Taehyung are you done-"

Oh, he's asleep.

"Goodnight Tae, I promise your life will get better soon, I'll make sure of it."
