The next day Taron walked into Carly's Hospital room. Carly was sitting up awaiting his entrance. Taron was wearing a black hoodie and had airpods in his ears.

"Hey baby." Carly said.

"Hey love, how is it going?" Taron asked.

"Good it could be better." Carly said.

"I'm here." Taron said.

"I know you are." Carly said.

"You make it sound like it's a bad thing." Taron said.

"No! Not at all....it's just I want my mother." Carly said.

"Is she doing anything today?" Taron asked.

"Not that I know of." Carly said.

"Do you want me to go call her for you?" Taron asked.

Carly's eyes lit up. She really wanted to see her mother. The one who raised her.

"Oh Taron, you would do that for me?" Carly asked.

"I would do anything for you because you're my girl." Taron said.

"Thank you." Carly smiled.

Taron walked out to the parking lot because there was no connection in the Hospital. The phone ringed 5 times and finally someone picked up.

When I think of those East End lights

Muggy nights

"Hello?" Betty asked. "What do you want Taron?" Betty didn't sound friendly.

Hello Mrs. Shannon your daughter is in the hospital. Did you forget?" Taron said.

"No." Betty said.

"Then why aren't you here?" Taron asked.

"She's got you." Betty replied.

"Your daughter is asking for YOU." Taron raised his voice a little.

The curtains drawn in the little room downstairs

"I can't make it." Betty said.
