"I'm ready to get out of here, that's for sure." He glanced around the bright, clinically clean room. "They've had to adjust my medication, I should be fine now." He watched, amused, as she sat down, noting how close she was to him. "You always were my little shadow." He smiled.

"Oh, sorry." She blushed and went to move back a bit.

"No, it's fine, really." He put his hand on her arm to stop her and her eyes immediately went to his hand and then back to his. "When did you fly in?"

"Saturday, I've been here since Saturday, I got here as soon as I could, this is the first chance I've had to see you."

"Ah, Sabine's kept you away has she?" A smile spread across his lips as he thought of his over protective PA.

"Noone really knows I'm here, apparently you kept your last visit to me a secret and now I have to keep a low profile, and yes, before you say it, I do understand that Corinna will find it odd me being here and that's why I've had to stay away." She glanced down, she could feel his thumb stroking over her skin on her arm, it felt like an intimate gesture that meant more than just friendship.

"I'm glad you understand, I have to protect my marriage." He looked into her eyes and she knew that what he'd said was a thinly veiled reference to their last meeting in France. "Is Sebastian ok with you being here?"

"Yeah, he arranged my flight, a car and hotel, he's been great." She smiled dreamily as she thought of Seb, it didn't go unnoticed by Michael.

"I can see how much you love him, you used to look at me the same way." He remarked.

"And yet you don't remember what happened between us." She put her hand over her mouth, the words had come out before she could stop them. He said nothing but just kept looking at her before shaking his head, an awkward silence began to form in the room. "You've had seizures before?" She asked, thinking about him mentioning his medication and not wanting to fall into that awkward silence.

"Yes, it's an unfortunate side effect of my brain injury." He replied.

"Was it stress? Was it my fault?" She looked worried.

"No, it's just happens, so stop worrying." He kept his hand on her arm. "Chloe, don't take this the wrong way, I'm pleased to see you, but why are you here?"

"Sabine said you asked for me, I guess you don't remember." She couldn't help but put her hand on top of his, he was filling her body with warmth and it felt quite comforting.

"No, I don't."

"She just panicked and did what she thought you wanted at the time, please don't....."

"It's fine Chloe, don't worry, Sabine isn't in any trouble. It gives me another chance to apologise." He glanced at the clock. "Look, we haven't got long before you will have to go. I just wanted to say again, I'm sorry."

"I got your text, but sorry for what?" She asked, her hand squeezed his, she didn't even realise she was doing it until he glanced down and gently removed his hand from her arm and her grip.

"For everything." He said quietly, he took a breath, ready to continue.

"Chloe." Sabine burst into the room. "You've got to go now. Corinna is here, you can't let her see you."

"But we hadn't finished talking." She stood up and looked back at Michael. "Sorry for what Michael, what do you mean by 'everything'?"

"Chloe, please, you must go. Now." Sabine was starting to panic. "Please, she doesn't know you're here."

"Do as she says Chloe." He gave her a weak smile. "It's been good to see you, now please, you have to go." Risking taking another couple of seconds longer she leant in towards him and placed a brief kiss on his cheek.
