When I was in primary, there was this sweets shop beside my school and occasionally I went there.
They used to sell a jelly baby for a penny. A complete bargain if you ask me!
Anyway, once I sauntered up to the counter and plonked a pound in front of the Sweets Lady (we used to call her that) and asked for one hundred jelly babies.
One hundred jelly babies.
She had to count them out.
One. By. One.
It took forever! Well to me, a hyper child back then, it felt like forever. But now that I think about, it must have taken the poor lady a good solid 20 minutes counting them out.
The only thought running through my head back then?
I'm going to get a lot of jelly babies! Ha ha ha.
