I awoke with a start, to the sight of morning sunlight streaming through various gaps in our massive curtains and the sounds of the TV on in the lounge room, Luka animatedly talking his way through some game and the energised coos of happy Babies.
And I finally registered that Blayze's arm was wrapped around my back and I'd been using his chest as my pillow.
Blayze is still in bed.
It's light outside.
The Kid's are up!
I shot up into a sitting position.
"Blayze wake up!"
I gave hid shoulder a shake.
He slowly stretched and inch by inch his eyes drifted open.
"What-?"
His eyes bugged wide open and he too shot up into a sitting position.
"We obviously fell back to sleep!"
I exclaimed, throwing the covers back to get out of bed.
Thank god Noah was clearly up and able to see to the Kid's.
But why didn't she wake me?
I scrambled out of my side of the bed and snagged my shiny, dark blue robe, then shrugged it on while Blayze slipped out of his side of our bed and was opening and slamming drawers within a few seconds.
"Did you not snooze your alarm?"
I asked, re-tying my pony tail.
"I thought I did."
He muttered, pulling a t-shirt over his head.
I walked around the end of the bed, then up his side to his bedside table and grabbed his phone.
As soon as I picked the device up, the screen lit up and I was faced with a string of notifications, at least half of them being missed calls, voicemail messages and texts.
Somebody had called twice from the main house phone and left one voicemail.
Uncle Lukas had called three times and left a string of texts.
Heath had called about half a dozen times and left a line of texts.
Even Jax's name was attached to missed calls and texts.
"You're popular."
I remarked, turning around.
In the time it had taken me to get to the phone and pick it up, Blayze had donned his t-shirt and a pair of jeans and was now balancing on one foot to put his second sock on.
He got the sock on, stood straight for a second and then bent forward to grab a blue and white plaid shirt off the floor.
"Everybody's wondering where the hell I am?"
He guessed, shrugging his arms through the shirt sleeves.
"I would guess so, seeing as it's mainly Uncle Lukas and Heath and a few from the home phone which probably means Grandpa."
I explained.
"But they might even be a little worried, coz even Jax has called and sent messages."
Jaxon Rowan is widely renowned in our family, to think 9AM is early.
I walked forward and offered Blayze his phone.
"Thanks Babe."
He took the mobile from me and leaned down to kiss me.
"I gotta go."
He turned on his heel and pulled our bedroom door open.

"Let me at least make you a take away coffee and some toast!"
I insisted, hurrying after him and his bloody long strides.
"I don't have time."
He denied, reaching the end of the hallway in no time.
"It'll take me five minutes!"
I insisted.
"You're already late, so five more minutes won't hurt."
"Daddy!"
Luka abandoned his toys in the lounge room and ran towards us.
"Mummy!"
He shouted, his grin huge.
"Hey Baby!"
I scooped the Toddler up off the floor and gave him a kiss.
He wrapped his arms around my neck and hugged me tight!
I gave him a return squeeze, then pried him off.
"Give Daddy a hug."
I encouraged the small boy.
"Mum's gotta fix him something to eat real quick!"
Luka happily transferred into Blayze's arm's and eagerly wrapped his little arms around his Dad's neck, giving him a hug too.
We have the most adorable Child!
I slipped around Blayze and Luka and hurried into the Kitchen.
"Morning!"
Noah greeted, eyes sparkling.
It didn't escape me that she thought we were late because we'd been busy in the bedroom.
Little did she know, we'd literally been sleeping!
"Morning."
I replied, lifting the kettle to check how much water was in it.
There was plenty!
I set it back down and flicked the switch to make it boil.
"I figured you'd be out here eventually and need water in the jug."
Noah explained, her hands wrapped around a mug.
"Blayze apparently turned his alarm off instead of hitting snooze."
I explained, grabbing our mug's out of the drying rack.
Noah's snort told me she definitely didn't believe me.
But it was the truth.
I grabbed a tea spoon and dropped a spoonful of coffee into each of the mug's, then grabbed the sugar and dropped two spoonfuls into each.
Then I grabbed the loaf of bread sitting on the bench and quickly placed two slices into the toaster.
"I gave Luka a couple of pieces of toast like ten minutes after he was up."
Noah informed me.
"Coz he was following me around and pointing to the Kitchen."
"Thank you."
I shot her a smile as I moved to the fridge to get the milk and butter.
"Toast isn't much of a breakfast for Blayze, but coz we fell back to sleep it's gonna have to do."
Noah nodded.
