The beach behind Olivia and Connor's house.

9:25, The Bonfire.

My toes sink deep into the soft white sand as I walk in stride next to Connor. I can pretty well hear my heart beating in my ears, and little butterflies in invading my stomach furiously. I can feel myself already chickening out. Problem is, I think I have reached the point of no return, because I cant think of anything else important enough to tell him, so I don't have to tell him what I was gonna tell him.

"So, what were you gonna talk to me about?" Connor asks, interrupting my nervous thoughts.

I swallow and look down at the sand shyly, gathering my thoughts. Just say it, Sarah. I keep repeating that over and over in my head, trying to gain enough courage to just say it out loud.

I had just parted my lips to start talking when I heard a female voice call out. "Connor!" I then whip around to see Miranda Emerson jogging towards us, with her long black hair pulled back into a ponytail, and her icy blue eyes practically glowing in the moonlight. Connor and I then stop our little walk so Miranda can catch up. I sigh, feeling frustrated, and cross my arms and lock eyes with the devil herself.

"Hey, Connor." grins Miranda at Connor. I roll my eyes then, this cant be good. "Sarah." Miranda acknowledges me and gives me a once over.

"Hi." I reply flatly. I then glance over to Connor, and he's actually smiling back at her, my heart immediately plummets to the soles of my feet.

"Where are you all headed off too?" asks Miranda sweetly, still smiling at Connor. But once she glances at me, her icy eyes send daggers straight through me.

"We were just going for a walk. Sarah wanted to talk to me." he replies nonchalantly, not even noticing to tension between Miranda and I.

"Oh, is that so." she says to Connor, but glaring at me. Probably thinking of the many ways to do away with me for good. I then see movement down from the bottom of my eye, and I then glance down to see that Miranda had grabbed a hold of Connors hand. I then look back up to see her venomous smile, cutting straight through my heart.

"Yeah. What was it you were gonna talk to me about?" Connor asks me, still holding onto Miranda's hand.

My throat begins to tighten, and I can feel tears forming in my eyes. Without even looking up at them I reply shakily, "Its nothing... Not even im-important."

I then take off back into the direction we came, back towards the fire. I could barely see through my blurry vision, and I almost fell while walking through the sand, but quickly recovered before causing any damage. I can hear Connor calling after me, but I ignore him and keep walking back to my friends.

Olivia was the first to run up to me. Her eyes then narrow at me worriedly. She then places her hands on my shoulders and looks me straight in the eye. "What happened, Sarah? What did he say to you? And why is Miranda-" she asks and stops short, looking over my shoulder. When what she's seeing registers to her, her mouth hangs open, and shortly after that her eyes flare up with anger. "I'll kill him." she hisses, and releases my shoulders, and walks around me and storms away towards Connor and Miranda.
